#enj oyc or i nt h Wall mural encourages selfie from visitors BY L.A. STORY There’s nothing like a huge wall mural painted on the side a local business to gain attention from curious passersby. The mural is already doing what its creators where hoping it would do. Draw attention to Corinth. The painting on Pizza Grocery’s outside brick wall has certainly drawn attention from those traveling Cruise Street based on the social media comments. Then, after one of the concept creators decided to do a live Facebook post to talk about the mural just before its comple- tion, the curiosity became a full blown buzz. The mural is a fun “selfie wall,” according to Ronnie Sleeper, who is a team member of “Table 3,” of the Strategic Doing workshop group that came up with the concept. The workshop project had to be something that would make Corinth interesting to young people and entice them to want to become part of the Corinth/Alcorn County community. With that operating understanding, he said the six groups were given the opportunity to come up with six projects that would make an immediate impact on the community and make it an interesting place for young families and businesses to want to locate in the area. That was the point. “Our question that we asked ourselves is ‘what would it look like if Corinth was a interesting town that attracted 21st Century talent and business? What would we look like?’ So, that led to a bigger discussion of smaller things we could do to make it begin to become that city,” Sleeper explained. “One of the things that popped up, in the group I am part of, is the selfie wall.
