New Weekly Meditation Class Beginning this month, longtime center instructor Annie will teach meditation and breathing practices that will help you mange stress and anxiety. Annie holds teaching certifications in three traditions - Integrative Therapy, Kundalini Yoga, and Acu-Yoga. Her teaching philosophy is to create an atmosphere of supportive kindness where each student can learn and practice at their own pace. A Zoom link will be included in your receipt. Thursdays, January 7-28, 4:30 p.m. $16 Tax Aide Begins February The AARP Foundation will offer free tax preparation assistance at the Davis Senior Center starting in February. Appointments can be scheduled directly by calling 530-324-5007 beginning January 11. The Senior Center building remains closed, but Tax-Aide volunteers will be on site on Tuesdays and Wednesdays, 9:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m., through April 14 to scan tax materials for contactless appointments. Taxpayers will bring their ID and intake booklets/ permissions. They will also need to have all tax documents completed and assembled when they arrive. Volunteers will scan the documents while the taxpayer waits. A counselor will conduct a telephone interview and then prepare the return. The taxpayer will come back to sign and pick up a copy of the completed return. Holiday Closures The Senior Center administrative office will be closed December 24 - January 1. Beginning January 4 we will once again respond to inquires and resume programming through Zoom.
