Key characteristics
ETERNUS CS200c – Data Protection in a box
The ETERNUS CS200c is a complete data protection infrastructure in a
box. In combination with Simpana software the appliance serves as a
standardized platform for the backup and archiving of data from physical
and virtual environments. The solution is equipped with fast hard disks or
SSDs, along with integrated deduplication for high performance backup
and archiving. The ETERNUS CS200c is available with multiple licensing
options to simplify deployment and maximize resources.
The appliance setup is easy thanks to comprehensive automation to
ensure highly efficient and reliable data backup. The central management
console with GUI and remote access enables to track, index, schedule, and
perform data transfer. Unified management makes backup administration
and scheduling quite easy. This eliminates multiple management points,
reduces risks, cuts costs and frees up administration resources.
The ETERNUS CS200c is ideal for small and medium-sized enterprises
looking for a data protection solution in a box, for consolidating backup
infrastructures, for enterprises with branch offices/subsidiaries and for easy
data backup in specific areas like MS Exchange and VM environments or
Edge clients.
ETERNUS CS200c with Appliance Software licensing
The Appliance Foundation Software installed on the ETERNUS CS200c
is based on the technology-leading Simpana software. The enterprise
software is tightly coupled with the Fujitsu best-in-class PRIMERGY server.
The software includes an unlimited number of file system clients for virtual
& physical systems. The software provides modern backup, archiving
and recovery capabilities to better protect ever-growing data volumes,
efficiently manage information assets, and quickly find, recover and access
data. The deduplication feature can be enabled at the source (client
server) or the target (ETERNUS CS200c). Application support of Windows,
Linux/Unix and SAP applications as well as snapshot, snapshot replication
and tape attachment are optional functions.
The Appliance Advanced Software features all the standard functions
of the Appliance Foundation Software including application support.
Snapshot, snapshot replication and tape support are optional.
ETERNUS CS200c without license
For existing Commvault environments the ETERNUS CS200c without license
is the best choice. The system is pre-configured and pre-installed offering
an easy and quick start-up. The appliance is available as entry and scale
model with several capacity points.
Use this delivery model in combination with Simpana solution sets or
standard Simpana licensing. It is an easy way to quickly deploy new
Commvault media agents that are scale- and performance-optimized into
the existing environment.
