           ………………………………………………………………………………………………

mothers2mothers (m2m) is transforming lives each and every day. Over the past 15 years

we have reached almost 1.5 million HIV-positive women with life-saving education and support,

but we cannot stop now. Together, we must keep pedaling towards an HIV-free generation.

Our dream is of a world where no mother dies of AIDS and no baby is born with HIV. In its

third time running, Cycle 2 Zero is helping to make this dream a reality. This year, we are going

back to South Africa – where it all began for m2m - and we need you on our team.

Be part of our journey and raise much needed funds towards m2m’s vital work.

                              Together, let’s Cycle to Zero!

Babalwa learned she was HIV-positive in 2002 while pregnant with her daughter Anathi,
now 14. Through m2m, she was able to access counseling, as well as the lifesaving medical
care that prevented her from passing the disease to her daughter during birth.

that my baby would be born with HIV, and that I

I felt lost and afraid, with no idea what to do.

That’s when my counselor told me about
mothers2mothers, which she described as a
support group for women who were HIV-

days ahead, we will be talking about m2m’s presence in
South Africa and how the programme has grown since
we first began our work here 16 years ago.

Cycle Day 1 – Sunday 21st October – Cycling in the bushland of the Sunshine Coast

Today sees the start of our incredible journey! We begin
our cycle on a long scenic road along the Great Kei River.
The Kei River flows for about 225 km before converging
into the Indian Ocean and is home to a variety of wildlife.
Look out for bush pigs, deer and vervet monkeys along
the way. After a refreshment stop at Shaun Park, we
continue our journey to Port Alfred, with the option of
passing through the artist village of Bathurst and
enjoying a majestic view across the Indian Ocean from a
lighthouse.

Cycle Day 2 – Monday 22nd October – Site visit in Peddie

Time to see m2m’s work in South Africa first hand as we
visit projects in nearby Peddie, meeting both m2m’s team
of Mentor Mothers and Site Coordinators. This is a
unique opportunity to see for yourself how m2m are
transforming lives every day, and how your support is
taking us one step closer to an HIV-free generation. We will
leave early in the morning by bus to make the most of our
site visit but there will be plenty of time for cycling in the
                                               afternoon.

m2m will provide each participant with two branded
specialist cycling shirts for the trip, a branded water bottle,
and a recommended packing list which will detail any
equipment you may need.

Can I bring my own bike/equipment?

own pedals to be fitted by the team mechanics upon arrival.

The office is here to support you fully in your fundraising needs. In 2016, the majority of people exceeded
their targets, so we know with the right support we can help you to do the same. We’ll set milestones for
you to support you and check in along the way. If you don’t reach a milestone, we will do our best to help
you, some may make up the difference themselves.

What online platform should I use for my fundraising?
In the welcome pack you will receive once you sign up for the challenge, there is a step by step process to
fundraising using the suggested online fundraising platform JustGiving. American participants may

Will I be sharing a room?
The tour costs are based on two or more people sharing
one room. However, if you would like your own room,
please let us know. Given the group size, the number of

single supplement charge, based on hotel rates.

Is it possible to extend my stay?
