Pipeline - Australia Over the month of July, 1,687 new projects were identified by Cordell, up from 1,574 over the previous month. The estimated total value of those projects was around $27.3 billion. The number of new projects identified over the last 12 months increased by 2 per cent when compared to the previous 12 month period, while the estimated total value of those projects was up around 3 per cent. In addition to the counts above, there was also a new project identified last month with an estimated value of $100 billion in Western Australia (Western Green Energy Hub). The proposed project aims to produce up to 50 gigawatts of wind and solar powered renewable energy across 15,000 square kilometres. Moving into construction - Australia There were 690 projects moving into the construction phase over the month of July, up 7 per cent month-on-month. The number of projects moving into construction over the 12 months to July 2021 fell -6 per cent when compared to the 12 months to July 2020. The estimated value of the projects moving into construction last month was around $4.5 billion, up from around $3.0 billion over the previous month. Although the estimated value of projects was up significantly month-on-month, the estimated value of projects over the 3 months to July was -13 per cent lower than the previous 3 month period.
