introduction Jane Spellacy WA State Director, BGIS Twitter: @BGISapac Jane Spellacy joined BGIS in 2012 and has been State Director for Western Australia since 2017, a role in which she oversees 11 integrated facilities management contracts for clients spanning a diverse range of sectors, including mining, government, residential and energy. With more than 20 years of experience in facilities management and operations roles across the United Kingdom and Australia, Jane is skilled in contract management, business planning and project delivery, as well as change management. Julie Bishop Chancellor, Australian National University and Foreign Minister of Australia 2013-18 Twitter: @HonJulieBishop The Hon Julie Bishop served as Australia’s Minister for Foreign Affairs from 2013 until her resignation in 2018. She was the first female to hold the role as well as the first female Deputy Leader of the Liberal Party, serving for 11 years. She was the longest serving Member for Curtin in the House of Representatives, elected in 1998 until 2019. Bringing her experience from the private sector, Ms Bishop established the innovationXchange within DFAT to develop bold and creative solutions to longstanding, overseas development assistance challenges, and overhauled Australia’s foreign aid focus. Ms Bishop promoted Australia's interests at the United Nations Security Council. In 2014, she led the international response to the downing of Malaysian Airlines flight MH17 over Ukraine, and was awarded the Commander of the Order of Merit of the Netherlands Ministry of Foreign Affairs. For her contribution to the US-Australia alliance, in 2018 Ms Bishop received the inaugural Eleanor Roosevelt US Mission Award for Leadership Excellence. moderator Diane Smith-Gander AO National Chairperson, CEDA Twitter: @DianeSmithG Diane Smith-Gander AO is a professional non-executive director maintaining a diverse portfolio over varying types of entities, industries and geographies. She is an advocate for gender equity and a past president of CEW. Diane is non-executive director of AGL Energy Limited, Wesfarmers Limited, HBF Health Limited, NQA (the operator of Cairns and Mackay airports) and Keystart Loans group. In the Federal Government sphere, she chairs the member body for Safe Work Australia. In 2019, Diane was a member of the panel that reviewed the capability of APRA (the Australian financial system prudential regulator) enacting one of the Hayne Royal Commission recommendations. She is also the Chair of the inaugural Nominations Committee for the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) and was the Chair of a 3 member panel conducting the independent review of Football Federation Australia (FFA) National Teams’ Management. Diane serves pro bono as Chair for the Committee for the Economic Development of Australia (CEDA), Chair of the Business School Advisory Board for the University of Western Australia (UWA) and Deputy Chair of the Council for Methodist Ladies’ College (MLC). Diane holds an MBA from the University of Sydney and a BEc from UWA. In 2015 she was awarded an Honorary Doctorate of Economics from UWA. She is a Fellow of the Australian Institute of Company Directors (AICD), Governance Institute of Australia (GIA) and an adjunct professor of corporate governance at UWA. In 2018 Diane was the Business Award winner in the West Australian of the Year Awards in recognition of her contribution to business in the state and her advocacy for gender equity. She received the President’s Award from the GIA in 2017 for exemplary service to the profession. She also became an Officer in the Order of Australia in 2019 for services to business, women’s engagement in executive roles, gender equality and the community.

He currently works as the Regional General Manager reporting to the CEO and also as the Executive GM for the Smart Infrastructure Business RSS division for the Pacific region. Most of his working life has focussed on technology in commercial buildings, hospitals and manufacturing plants. Andrew has a technical background having started his working life as an electrical technician in Victoria, working on robots and automation systems. Before joining Siemens, Andrew held State Management roles at Schneider and Honeywell. Andrew has studied in electronic and management areas and has recently completed an MBA achieving a High Distinction average and being nominated on the Dean’s List.
