The ENVY Jewellery Range Buying jewellery is fun and exciting, however at times it can also be a little confusing. We have listed below all the details about our jewellery to help answer any important questions your customers may have. We only sell real jewellery. All of our jewellery is made from pure Sterling Silver 925 or stainless steel. We only use the highest AAA rated Cubic Zirconia gemstones, individually hand cut and polished just like diamonds to create the brilliant sparkle of natural flawless white diamonds. In fact, even experts need specialist equipment to see if they are real diamonds or not. Sterling Silver 925 The words pure sterling silver describes a product that contains 92.5% silver. All of our sterling silver products in accordance with the law are marked 925 which means that 925 parts per thousand are pure silver. Sterling Silver 925 with Gold Plating This is a special type of gold plated product that consists of a base of pure sterling silver 925 that is coated or plated in real gold. All of our plated jewellery is plated with 3 microns of gold and is guaranteed to last for 12 months but can last for up to 5 years if looked after correctly. For more details see “How to care for your jewellery”. Cubic Zirconia Gemstones Our cubic zirconia gemstones are stones that have been invented to have the same clarity and brilliance like a high grade diamond. All Cubic Zirconia stones come in three grades, but because of the special way our stones are hand cut and polished, it surpasses all of these grades. Cubic Zirconia, just like a diamond, has qualities and grades. Cubic Zirconia has three main grades, which are commercial, regular and custom cut. Commercial and regular grades of Cubic Zirconia are mass produced and cut with minimal finishing techniques. They tend to be softer; therefore can become dull and discoloured in a relatively short period of time. At ENVY Jewellery we only use the highest quality "AAA" rated cubic zirconia gemstones. Every stone is individually hand cut and ©ENVY Jewellery Pty Ltd Section 1 June 2014 2
polished to perfection to create the sparkle and brilliance of natural, flawless white diamonds. Each cubic zirconia gemstone has the same cut, clarity, colour and carat weight (known as the 4 c’s) as high grade diamonds. Cut Cut is the factor that determines the brilliance of a diamond. A classic round brilliant cut diamond has 58 facets - 33 on the top, 24 on the bottom and the culet (1 point at the bottom - another tiny facet). Just like diamonds our cubic zirconia stones are cut to maximum brilliance and are available in a variety of shapes. Diamond Shapes Clarity The fewer the inclusions, the clearer, more brilliant and more expensive the diamond. "Flawless" diamond means that no inclusions can be seen under a 10x jeweller's loupe. Our stones are manufactured from the finest rough; there are no inclusions which makes the clarity flawless. ©ENVY Jewellery Pty Ltd Section 1 June 2014 3
Carat weight Standard measure of a diamond's size is carat (ct) weight. The carat size of a simulated diamond is measured exactly the same as natural diamonds. Thus, the carat size of a one- carat stone is equal in appearance to the carat size of a one-carat diamond. Diamond Carat Weights Top Reasons to Wear our Jewellery The story of jewellery is as old as humanity. And, ever since man first tried to improve upon nature, he's been searching for a diamond substitute. 6. Durable enough for everyday wear. Our stones rate 8.5 on the Moh’s Hardness Scale. Diamonds are a 10 and are the hardest substance known to man. With normal wear, our stones will not chip or break. 7. Superior quality. To ensure that you are getting the best quality stone, our stones are checked twice. Each individual stone is inspected before it is set, and checked again, in the finished piece of jewellery. 8. Same size as a diamond. A one carat stone is identical in size to a one carat diamond. Each stone is offered in diamond carat size rather than diamond carat weight. 9. Colour your wardrobe. The cubic zirconia stone is available in nearly every colour of the rainbow including red, yellow, green, blue, pink, and violet. Our stones are also available as simulated gemstones such as tanzanite, aquamarine, etc. Caring For Your Jewellery To become an heirloom, jewellery must be properly cared for. Dust, pollution and daily wear can cloud the brilliance of a gemstone and dull the surface of the silver or gold. Some simple, basic care can help preserve and protect your ENVY jewellery for years to come. Here are some Do's and Don'ts: • Don’t wear fine jewellery when doing housework or gardening. • Don’t heap your jewellery into one drawer. Remember a diamond /cubic zirconia ring can scratch that pearl necklace. Keep them separate and ideally wrapped in velvet, paper, or silk. • Do clean fine jewellery often to maintain its sparkle and beauty. Do not use toothpaste as its abrasives can damage softer gems and metals. All fine jewellery can be safely cleaned by soaking for 10 minutes in warm soapy water (using a non- detergent soap). Use a soft brush on harder gems to loosen any dirt around the prongs. To reduce greasy build-up on diamond jewellery, dip it in plain alcohol or vodka before soaking. ©ENVY Jewellery Pty Ltd Section 1 June 2014 5
Sterling Silver 925 Sterling silver tarnishes rapidly when exposed to salt air and products containing sulfur, such as rubber gloves and certain papers. Taking a medication that changes the acidity of your skin may cause silver jewellery to tarnish. Tarnishing on silver jewellery, when worn on a regular basis, usually does not occur. Storage for a prolonged time causes silver jewellery to tarnish. At the time of purchase, all ENVY Jewellery is packaged in a protective box, case or tarnish-resistant pouch. Between wearing, we recommend that you place your jewellery in its original casing or another suitably lined box or pouch. To keep your silver tarnish-free, frequently clean the silver with a commercial silver polish cream or alternatively your customers can use the ENVY Jewellery Gold and Silver Polish. If your customers are using a commercial product, always follow the directions for that particular cleaning product. It is also very important to maintain the freshness of the cleaner by storing it in a tightly-sealed container. A stale or contaminated cleaner may be ineffective or even damage your jewellery. Check to see if your jewellery cleaner indicates a shelf-life or expiration date. To remove tarnish or oxidation film is easy, simply take the ENVY Jewellery Gold and Silver polishing cloth and follow the instructions on the packet. Regularly clean your gold jewellery to maintain shine and brilliance by soaking for 10 minutes in warm soapy water. Remember to rinse and dry with a soft cloth. Please remove your jewellery when doing household chores as exposing gold jewellery to household bleach which will quickly cause gold to disintegrate and discolour. Cubic Zirconia and Gemstone Jewellery Like real diamonds dust, pollution and daily wear can cloud the brilliance of your cubic zirconia gemstone. To keep your cubic zirconia gemstones looking at their brightest simply clean with regular diamond jewellery cleaner, if your customer does not have one then they can purchase the ENVY Jewellery Cleaner. Using the ENVY cleaner is easy, simply follow the steps on the bottle. ©ENVY Jewellery Pty Ltd Section 1 June 2014 6
Stainless Steel Stainless Steel jewellery set with diamonds or cubic zirconias is one of the fastest growing trends in Europe. The obvious major advantage of using Stainless Steel is that it is a very hard and durable metal, which means it will stay looking its best for a very long time. Stainless Steel is also used for watches. It can be re-finished by any jewellery and will not oxidize or turn black. Gold Plating Our jewellery is plated with 3 microns of real 18ct gold. It is guaranteed to last for 12 months but can last many years if looked after correctly. We advise that plated jewellery is not worn while doing everyday chores or worn in the shower. By taking good care of your plated jewellery and using warm soapy water to clean followed by a polish with the polishing cloth it will maintain its beauty for many years. Do not use harsh abrasive cleaners and especially do not use toothpaste. Gold plating is a method of depositing a thin layer of gold on to the surface of another metal, most often copper or silver by chemical or electrochemical means.
