GOING PLACES CORALVILLE CONNECTION 11 Iowa River Trail Rocky Shore Drive to Clear Creek A long-awaited segment of the Iowa River Trail is nearing completion. Construction is progressing on the 10-foot wide concrete trail extension from CRANDIC Park in Iowa City (near Rocky Shore Drive) to the existing intersection of the Clear Creek Trail and Iowa River Trail just north of the confluence of Clear Creek and the Iowa River. When completed, trail users will enjoy the 1.6 mile route along the Iowa River from CRANDIC Park in Iowa City to the north end of the Iowa River Landing Wetland Park in Coralville. Construction began in October 2020 and a milestone was reached in early February with the installation of two pedestrian bridge spans over Clear Creek. Trail paving and lighting installation continue this spring. Overall project completion is expected by July 1, 2021. The project was let by the Iowa DOT in August 2020, and the low bid was Peterson Contractors, Inc., at $1,250,395.65.
