Welcome To CAMBRIA-FRIESLAND Cambria and Friesland are neighboring villages nestled in the northeastern part of Columbia County. The rich farmlands, lush woodlands and marshlands, along with their quaint villages provide place for visitors to come and enjoy the quiet, friendly, country atmosphere. They both have well-kept parks for various activities including fishing in Cambria on beautiful Lake Tarrant. In the summer several celebrations occur. A hundred year tradition of weekly band concerts are held on the Friesland Village Square Tuesday evenings throughout the summer . Friesland also offers one of the biggest fireworks displays in the area with their celebration on the Fourth of July. Join us on any of these nights and have a delicious piece of pie while you converse and enjoy the band. Cambria celebrates Park Days, the first weekend in August, with a kick off of their softball tournament starting Thursday night and running through Sunday. The parade is held on Saturday morning continuing with various activities and music in the park. A chicken BBQ and other delicious foods are provided to fill your appetite. The largest charity poker run for charitiy in Columbia County is also held in Cambria. The Dump Run Sponsored by The Dump Bar is held this year on August 22 starting in the morning and closing in the evening with an annual pig roast and live music. Over 500 riders have participated in this run. On September 12 Alsum Produce will host their Fourth Annual Tator Trot 5k Run to provide money for local FFA organizations. In conjunction, the Cambria Friesland Area Chamber will have an Agricultural Fair before and during the run. All of these activities, along with many others, are open to the public.
