Fabrics: Charity shops: All charity shops sell textiles in poor condition as ‘rags’ by weight, so will usually accept all clean textiles whatever the condition. Towels, duvets and pillows: Welcomed at charity shops, refugee centres as well as animal rescue centres. Linens and lace: Local antique dealers may be interested in older linens and lace. Make up: Boots recycle scheme - your local boots store recycle make up Exercise equipment: Gymstock - collection and recycling service (will pay for equipment in good working order. They may collect old and damaged equipment for free. Musical Instruments: Sistema England - Charity working to help children, young people and their communities through the power of music. Tools: Tools with a Mission charity - will collect old hand and electrical tools as well as old sewing machines working and non working tools. They refurbish them, sort them into trade kits and send them across the world for livelihood creation. Mens in Sheds charity - brings together men that are lonely and isolated through fixing broken items in a community space. Find a local project to see if they want donations of any tools, or items that could be fixed. Paint: Community Re-paint - a national paint reuse network, sponsored by Dulux, that aims to collect leftover paint and redistribute it to benefit individuals, families, communities and charities in need. Limbcare accept prosthetic limbs, orthotic parts, mobility aids including crutches. frames and wheelchairs. They arrange pick up across the UK. Paceforlife recycle pacemakers for developing countries. NRS is the main supplier of disability aids and mobility equipment to the NHS. All equipment will have a barcode. Contact them to arrange return. Hearing Aids: Lions Club – deaf awareness and recycling of hearing equipment Hearing Aid Appeal Glasses: Most opticians have a collection bin where you can drop off unwanted spectacles for third world countries. Local refugee centres and Homeless charities are also worth investigating. Coffee Pods: Single-use pods used in many coffee machines can not normally be recycled except by Nespresso. TerraCycle - recycle coffee pods to create new products such as plastic baby bibs, notebook covers and park benches. Electrical Equipment: British Heart Foundation - accept TVs, fridges, freezers, washing machines and dishwashers in good working order. Sue Ryder - accepts TVs and small electrical items in good working order. Screen-share.co.uk - accept laptops Computeraid - take computers and laptops Hubbub - partnered with O2, they recondition old donated phones.
