Closing Statement to the
Council Electronic Session
2/2020
IGU Council Meeting Electronic Session nª 1/2021, 2-16 July 2021
Dear Members of the Council,
I am glad to report the following agenda items have been approved by the IGU Council at the Electronic
Session held from November 16 to 30 with 70 members connected and participating as “Present members”
in accordance with IGU procedures:
1. The Closing Statement of the Council Meeting Electronic Session 29th June – 13th July 2020
2. Confirmation of the appointment of Mr. Narcis de Carreras Roques as the new EXC member
representing Charter member for Spain (replacement)
3. New member application

4. The change of category status to "on hold” :

5. Appointment of Dr YANG Lei as the new Vice Chair of the Coordination Committee
6. Proposed candidates for the Committee Chair and Vice Chairs 2022-2025
7. IGU Budget 2021 under the Audit Committee Framework
8. The Proposal to reschedule the WGC2021 from June 2021 to 23-27 May 2022 and the
extension of IGU President mandate until the conclusion of WGC 2022.
9. Extension of the current Premium Associate Members (PAM) term to 2022 in the event of the
Council approved the postponement of WGC2021 to 2022
10. Proposal for rescheduling of the 2021-2024 Triennium to 2022-2025 and WGC2024 to the
year 2025 in the event of the Council approved the postponement of WGC2021 to 2022
11. Proposal for rescheduling of the 2024-2027 Triennium to 2025-2028 and the appendix to the
Invitation Letter to IGU President election for the triennium 2024-2027 and host of the WGC
2027 in the event of the Council approved the postponement of WGC2021 to 2022
12. Proposal for conferring upon Mr. Luis Bertrán the title of Honorary Secretary General upon
ending his mandate as IGU Secretary General
Above all, in the Council Meeting Virtual Session 18th - 19th November with 68 members connected and
participating as “Present members” according with IGU procedure, Italy was chosen to hold the IGU
Presidency from 2025 to 2028 with the 30th WGC to be held in Milan and Presidency held by Mr. Andrea
Stegher.
