Motto Text 2018 “Faith, Hope, Love” 1 Corinthians 13:13 For the past ten or so years a regular feature But something deeper, powerful, on our church’s agenda has been the need unstoppable, eternal has also been present for a larger building. An eye-watering amount throughout. Evidence of this was not difficult of time and resources have been invested to find – for whenever we stopped and into possibilities and potential solutions. listened, God’s voice was heard. Promises Forests of paper work have been ploughed from scripture, prophetic words and pictures through to establish a new legal status as - words of faith, words of hope, words of love a church, agreements with Councils and were heard. Sunday and weekly gatherings banks, planners and consultants. Technical saw people encountering God for the first legal decisions have been worked through time and in new ways. Those far from and presented at Church Meetings, alongside God discovered they were welcomed, they financial projections, requirements and mattered and they were loved. requests for pledges. As a church, our heart and hope has never been in a bigger building, but in the life transforming power of Jesus. A bigger building will simply create more space for more people to encounter Jesus, for us to continue to be a community that shares faith, hope and love. The Elders chose these three words to be our Motto Text this year as a clear reminder of who God has called us to be. As our larger building becomes a reality, as we look at a possible new name for our church, as we explore other changes as a church this year – being a community of faith, hope and love, with Jesus as our centre and source is who we are called to be. Together, let’s give our best to God’s BIG Build and be a community of faith, hope and love. ~ Mark Madavan 6
