Each week will be an adventure that includes several trips to the pool, a field trip, and new activities based on fun themes such as “All Around the World” and “Winter Wonderland”. PARK ADVENTURES Park Adventures Camp - Full Day Explore the outdoors, make new friendships and enjoy a day full of traditional camp games like capture the flag, dodgeball, and relay races. Play sports like soccer, basketball and t-ball. Enjoy craft projects and stay cool with water balloons, water tag and slip and slides. Cooking teaches kids valuable skills they will carry with them through life. Children practice basic math when they measure ingredients, reading comprehension as they follow a recipe, team building as they work in groups, and build a strong foundation for healthy eating. Students will learn modern forensic methods and use scientific methods to solve crime scenes. Students will be introduced to the laboratory techniques of criminal investigators and learn what methods they use in the criminal investigation process. This course will focus on the collection and analysis of crime scene evidence such as serology, toxicology, entomology, and trace evidence, and explore lab analysis techniques, such as photography, chromatography, DNA analysis, fingerprinting, reconstruction of crime scenes, analyzing the speed and velocity of a car accident, and hair and footprint analysis. Participant (or parent or guardian on behalf of a minor child participant) assumes all risks associated with participation in this program, including but not limited to, those generally asso- ciated with this type of program, the hazards of traveling on public roads, of accidents, of illness, and of the forces of nature. In consideration of the right to participate in the program and in further consideration of the arrangement made for the participant by the Mayor and Council of Rockville through its Department of Recreation and Parks for food, travel, and recreation, the participant, his or her heirs, and executors, or a parent or guardian on behalf of a minor child participant, agrees to release and indemnify the Mayor and Council of the City of Rockville and all of its agents, officers and employees, from any and all claims for injuries or loss of any person or property which may arise out of or result from participation in the program. The participant (or the parent or guardian on behalf of a minor child participant) grants permission for a doctor or emergency medical technician to administer emergency treatment of the participant and consents to the City’s use of photographs taken or videotapes made of the program that include the participant. Neither the instructor nor any of the staff are responsible for participants prior to or after the scheduled program.
