--Parish Sisters -Daughters of the Sacred Heart 15 Horeb Rd Morriston-
Parish Feast as we prepare for the Feast of the parish, it is good for us to see the variety of
ways in which we can support the mission of the Parish. As well as the financial and the
spiritual support it is possible to support the parish by -
Attending a weekday Mass, supporting the 1st Friday Adoration rota, helping with Catechism
class for Children, joining the readers Rota, supporting the Thursday Coffee Moring and the
9.30am Coffee Morning on a Sunday. Consider joining the Choir, Friday 5-6pm in the parish
centre. Sponsoring the Flowers £20. Keeping the Church tidy, joining cleaning rota or
sponsoring the cleaning ( £40)
Organ Lessons have resumed, would those interested in learning the Organ please see Paul.
Organ club, There is a proposed date for viewing and playing the magnificent Tabernacle
Chapel organ on Sat 30th July 2pm. Please confirm attendance with Paul.
Holidays Please be mindful of the following dates when I will be away on pilgrimage and a Priests
course and holiday July 8-15 National pilgrimage to Fatima, July 30 -Aug 5 Holiday, Aug 15-19 Parish
pilgrimage Poland , Aug 22nd -30th priests annual on- going formation course, Oct 23-28 retreat in
preparation for Silver Jubilee

note, we shall resume the use of the Adoration Chapel for Adoration.
Extra Masses, Please note that there are extra masses each day except Thursday for the various
feasts , Day of Obligation and 1st Friday.Registration FormJust a reminder if you are not registered you will not be receiving the e version of
the Newsletter or kept up to date with other events which crop up during the week by special email.
.Also I am not able to process CV ad references or inform you when Sacramental programmes for
the Children are being held or have to be cancelled.
It also provides a data base for requests for Godparent application forms, and provides an up to
date record of numbers of parishioners which in turn affects the number of provision of Sunday
Mass.
Standing orders May I encourage you all to take out standing orders to support the parish The bank
at Llansamlet have less opening hours which makes it difficult to pay on cash Sundays collection as d
cheques Please be considerate to your fellow parishioners on the finance team and use direct debit
to the parish Thank you for your cooperation
Petition Box in Mercy Chapel . We now have a petition box for your written intentions.
These will be taken to the Shrine in Poland during the parish Pilgrimage this August.
The Archbishop of Cebu- Phillipines has written to us and to the Filipino Community
expressing his closeness with us and extends his thanks to the parish for the close
cooperation and collaboration within the community. The Archbishop in recognition of the
closeness of the Parish with the Philippines, has graciously granted to us the gift of the
Jubilee Cross marking 500 years of the Faith in the Philippines. The Cross with is message
will be solemnly presented to the parish at the 11am Mass next Sunday and will lead the
procession of the Blessed Sacrament.
Junior Legion of Mary. The Junior Legion are having their closing of the year meeting on
Tuesday 3.15pm. It wold be great if parents could encourage their children to attend this
after School event at Bishop Vaughan when we resume in September.
Mercy Chapel Candles to sponsor a candle for a week 7 day candle cost £2.50 to
St Thomas Celebration The annual celebration for St Thomas will take place on Sat July 2nd 5.30pm
followed by procession of his Statue. This event is sponsored by the Kerelite Community . The
celebration following is by ticket only so please indicate your attendance to the organising
committee so that we have exact numbers.
World Youth day. Youth of the parish 16-30 who would like to go to Lisbon in August 2023 are
invited to read the further information from the diocesan website -

Holy Souls Box/ Fr Rod. Many thanks to those who kindly support Masses for the Holy Souls through the Hoy Souls box as you leave Church. . If you would like to help with a daily Mass intention for Fr Rod for the Holy Souls in Purgatory, then you can leave your change etc in the Holy Souls Box. Fr Rod will also finish offering the remaining November Dead list Masses. Sr Mini with other religious superiors was able to welcome the new Bishop on behalf of the Daughters of the Sacred Heart. Fr Rod will be away Monday to Friday of this week 27th – 1st July
