03 Urb Farm Newsletter Care Learn Create Recycle Grow Gather Feed Restore November 2020 We’re pretty proud of this absolute whopper of a pumpkin which we grew at the Urb Farm this year - and with a circumference of 1.65m and weighing between 25-30kg, this beast could take the weight of a fully grown adult - yes we tested it out! We were pleased to offer our four biggest pumpkins up for a silent auction in October just in time for Halloween, and will share on our social media pages the amazing designs the lucky winners came up with! This year saw the biggest and best harvest of aubergines we’ve ever had on the farm, including these beautiful glossy baby aubergines grown in one of our polytunnels. This photo shows Haden, one of the young people training with us, with his first ever harvest of aubergines! This picture was taken on one of his first days with us at the farm. Teeny tiny toadstools are popping up all over the farm. Autumn is well and truly here!! We put these raisins out for the birds over the summer, but they were enjoyed by a whole range of flying insects instead! Visitors included wasps, flies, and a fair few of the farm’s honeybees who all came to extract the delicious sugars from the dried fruit. To sign up to Veggie Mail and receive a list of available produce, please email veggie.mail@mkchristianfoundation.co.uk.
