The unstoppable Matù sets off in search of all three animals and, against all odds, she will succeed. Do you want to know how? – Grandma, grandma, I want to go to the party tonight. Mario Pennacchio, Richolly Rosazza new To Make a Family 30 cm, hardcover. , 24 pages, . Age: 5-9 years. What does it take to make a family? The young narrator of this story will hear many different ideas. Eventually he will understand that a family is made up of very few – so- metimes small – things. This is a book to be read all together... to find out what these things are! “A beautiful book, that with sensitivity and lightness, tackles the theme of the fa- mily, which is never just one, but multiple themes; a way to show children the beauty of diversity”. Michela Marzano, University Professor, Paris Descartes and SHS - Sorbonne Paris Cité Mario Pennacchio (Potenza, 1973), after having worked for several multinational companies, began working with words. He became a translator “for love”, and together with his wife, founded STEP Language Services, an agency working alongside prestigious international brands. His passion for nursery rhymes led him to explore the world of children’s literature. In 2013, he published Il Quaderno delle Fila- strocche (The Nursery Rhyme Notebook, Kellerman). Richolly Rosazza was born in Ancash, Peru, in 1981. The object of his artistic research has always been the world of childhood, in particular the ability of the creative mind, typical of children, which manages to transform everything into play. In 2012 he illustrated the Città del sole calendar, and in 2013 some of his plates were selected for the Illustrators’ Exhibition at the Bologna Children’s Book Fair. Among his publications are the series La famiglia coniglietti (The Bunny Family, Risfoglia edi- tions) and Legami (Links, Kite, 2019), all with texts by Nadia Al Omari. TM TM TM TM 3
Matt Dixon Not available in English “Transmissions series” Titles 21x29 cm, hardcover, 48 pages. Age: 5-99 years. 1- Robots new (a comic + artbook) 2 - Explorations 3 - incoming... Matt Dixon’s works instantly evoke a sense of appreciation. Then, gradually, the slight im- pression of naivety they convey gives way to the observation enforced by some details. After a while, it becomes evident that, basically, what Dixon seems to be staging is a classic: the post- apocalyptic scenario where human presence is merely limited to scattered items, deserted cities and the anthropomorphic aspect of the robots that wander through them … But there is a further step that finally emerges: we are the distinct solitudes of Dixon’s robots (as we realize) and the apocalypse has already come. 30 31 6 7 4
Mario Bellina, Antoine Vannucci The true story of Jolly Roger new (and of the Rotten Sardine’s Captain) 17x24 cm, hardcover, 48 pages. From: 7 years. Argh! Blistering Jellyfish! This is the story of Jolly Roger, the most terrifying pirate flag that has never waved in the gale-force winds of Caribbean. Jolly Roger lives on the top of the mainmast of the Rot- ten Sardine, the scariest and the stinking pirate ship that has never sailed the seas. Everyone is afraid of Jolly Ro- ger and all the military, civil and pirate ships knows his terrible reputation. Although none can talk about it, on the Rotten Sardine Jolly Roger is not the most frightening one: the true terror of the seas is the tormented Captain Spit-in-the-eye, so called because of his spitting upwind. When he is not lo- cked in his cabin with his eternal headache, he is always hungry for spoils and boarding. For this reason, also all the other pirates avoid him. Jolly Roger is clearly proud of his reputation but, like his crew, he would like to go on a bender with new friends. Finally, he finds a way to disguise himself and approach other pirate flags and everything goes smoothly until the captain finds it out.
