Chemeca 2020 Sponsorship and exhibition prospectus 27–30 September 2020, Brisbane, Australia www.chemeca2020.org
Invitation to sponsor and exhibit Chemeca 2020 The 49th Chemeca will be held in Brisbane, Australia from 27-30 September 2020. Located on Australia’s east coast, Queensland enjoys a warm subtropical climate and a relaxed but vibrant atmosphere, with traditional process industries such as sugar refining, mining and minerals processing, oil and gas and LNG, and an innovative startup and technology sector. Chemeca brings together chemical engineers from Australia, New Zealand and other countries who will gather to share their insights and innovations relevant to chemical engineers across the wide range of industries we work in. The theme for Chemeca 2020 is Renew, Sustain, Disrupt, Advance. Our focus is to encourage papers that explore the emerging opportunities and challenges for the chemical engineering profession and process industries throughout our region around this theme. Our plenary, keynote and other invited speakers have been specially selected to challenge our thinking and bring a global perspective to this discussion. Building on pervious conferences, Chemeca is the opportunity for the chemical engineering profession and associated disciplines to come together as a community to network and learn from each other. It provides a platform for cross-pollination across a wide range of industries, facilitating innovation. Industry and academia will come together to discuss and debate the latest advances and best practices to face the challenges of the 21st century in the Australasian region. Over the 30 years of my professional career I have seen Brisbane become a vibrant international city and the emergence of entirely new Queensland process industries such as the Liquefied Natural Gas grow to be world scale. September is fantastic in Queensland (‘beautiful one day, perfect the next’). For those who want to explore before or after the conference, we have easy access to iconic Australian experiences like the Gold Coast and Sunshine Coast beaches, or the famed Great Barrier Reef in North Queensland. I encourage you to enjoy our great city and great conversations with colleagues from Australia and around the world. Leeanne Bond, HonFellow IEAust Conference Chair What is Chemeca? Chemeca is the annual conference for the Australian and New Zealand community of chemical and process engineers and industrial chemists. Together, participants will learn and share industry knowledge, experiences ideas and insights that help the industry continue to grow. Chemeca 2020 will focus on the theme Renew, Sustain, Disrupt, Advance and will feature renowned plenary speakers, peer-reviewed and industry oral and poster presentations, and ample networking opportunities. The conference will be held at the Brisbane Convention and Exhibition Centre, Glenelg St, South Brisbane. Who attends Chemeca 2020? The conference will interest all those who contribute to the advancement of technology and the process industries including engineers, scientists, manufacturers, suppliers and service professionals. The conference has a strong following from academics and process engineers and scientists in the process industries and government. This year will have a special focus on an ‘industry day’ and workshops to encourage participation from professionals who want to stay up to date with emerging trends in the process industries. The Chemeca 2020 theme is:
