Members' Business motions that have not achieved cross party support *S6M-03469 Katy Clark: International Workers' Memorial Day—That the Parliament joins workers, trade unions and communities in commemorating International Workers’ Memorial Day on 28 April 2022; welcomes that International Workers’ Memorial Day is commemorated throughout the world, including in the West Scotland region, and is officially recognised by many governments, including the UK Government; acknowledges the publication of the annual statistics for fatal injuries at work in Great Britain during 2020-21 by the Health and Safety Executive; notes with sadness the findings that 17 workers in Scotland lost their lives during 2020-21 as a result of fatal injury at work; believes that a strong trade union movement is vital for advancing workers’ rights and improving health and safety in Scotland; commemorates all those who have lost their lives at work, and notes the calls for the Scottish Government to do what it can to officially mark the day. *S6M-03442 Graham Simpson: Honouring Emergency Workers—That the Parliament recognises the campaign by the Lanarkshire Historical Police Society for officers murdered in the line of duty, including Constable George Taylor and Detective Sergeant William Ross Hunt, both of Strathclyde Police Force, to receive posthumous bravery awards; further recognises what it sees as the need for those who lose their lives while on public duty to receive recognition; notes the view that the UK Government should agree to create a new award for all emergency workers who are killed while serving the public, and that this should be retrospective; recognises what it sees as the sterling bravery shown by Constable George Taylor and Sergeant William Ross Hunt in the face of what it understands was horrific violence; congratulates the Chief Constable of Police Scotland, Iain Livingstone, on agreeing to honour both men, and notes with sadness the long wait that their families have had for both men to be acknowledged. *S6M-03367 Joe FitzPatrick: Sexism in Football—That the Parliament condemns the findings of a recent investigation, undertaken by the Courier and Press & Journal, which, it believes, shows the scale of sexist abuse facing those involved in women's football in Scotland; notes with concern that the investigation found that 60% of female respondents had experienced sexism in football, and that sexism was the most commonly encountered form of abuse experienced by female players; highlights that, according to the investigation, just 8% of respondents believe that the football industry does enough to reduce discriminatory behaviour towards women; notes that 86% Monday 7 March 2022 14
