Kandersteg - Kandersteg International Scout Camp (KISC) - http://www.kisc.ch/ - Following the 1920 World Jamboree, Baden-Powell wanted to recreate a permanent mini-Jamboree where Scouts from all over the world could continue to meet. - Officially opened in 1923. - More than 12,000 young people from over 40 countries visit each year.
Kandersteg - Located in Switzerland in the Bernese Alps, Kandersteg is 65km from Bern. - The Kandersteg village is only 2km from KISC with shops, café, swimming pool and more. - http://www.kandersteg.ch/
What will we be doing? - Summer programme consists of three themes: - International Friendship - Eco - High Adventure - Activity programme is planned round these. - We want this to be Youth Shaped – tell us what you want to do.
International Friendship Making the most of the international atmosphere and the diversity of cultures
When are we going? - 30th July – 8th August 2019 - If we travel by coach we will leave afternoon of 29th July, arrive home 9th August. - Onsite in KISC for August 1st, Switzerland's National Day. - Celebration with food, carnival activities, talent competition and a parade.

Why have a schedule? - To ensure that the experience is Youth Shaped – giving the Scouts a chance to decide what they want to do whilst there. - To create a sense of Unit Identity and build a strong and supportive team. - To support each other with Fundraising. - To help the Scouts learn new skills and experience new activities in the lead up to a fantastic trip at KISC
Costs - £1000 total, to include trip and training costs. - Speak directly to Districts about their contributions. - There may be some additional cost to the County Scout Camp in May 2019 - Approx. 90% covered by training budget. - Looking at doing some group fundraising to cover additional costs such as group t-shirts, badges, hoody's.
Fundraising - Happy to provide support to those who need it. - Will be covering fundraising as a group - Already started! - Creating lists of ideas generated by Scouts. - Supporting ideas and sharing amongst us what has worked. - Looking into getting a Bucks International Adventure pull-up banner which could be borrowed by parents for activities/fundraising. - Let us know if there is anything you would like help with!
Communications - We’re on a whole range of social media platforms: - Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Flickr - We have also set up our own Website: - http://bucksinternationaladventure.org.uk/ - Find all social media links and OSM guidance here. - We will be using OSM to communicate with everyone. - It should be quick and easy to use, and will help us keep a track of attendance, permissions and medical details etc. - If you require support email us and we’ll get you sorted.
