Brookfield Senior Center - “… a place where things are happening!” September 2021 Newsletter As we say goodbye to summer, we hope that fall brings a more direct path forward through this long Pandemic. We’re committed to staying open and keeping you safe, so we appreciate that you are following all necessary protocols, understanding that things can change overnight. Thank you for your flexibility and good humor! As always, please read the entire newsletter carefully and register (and pay) for programs you are interested in as soon as possible. In order to maintain the appropriate social distancing, class numbers remain limited. Several members were extremely disappointed when they were closed out of classes and programs in August. Register and pay online so this doesn’t happen to you. In order to update you on any changes, we have begun using a new “robo call” feature offered by My Senior Center. You may receive a call from a Massachusetts number (617-855-0125) and it may be marked as “potential spam”. However, even if you do not pick up this call, they will leave a message with the information. We hope that you will find this information useful. Please do not forget to bring your key tag with you every time you come to the center and to have it out and ready to sign in before you enter the building so that you don’t hold up the line. If you need a new key tag, please let us know. Thank you for your cooperation. Cards, Scrabble, Mahjongg and Poker Board games, poker, mahjongg and scrabble are on Tuesday afternoons from 1:30 p.m. – 3:30 p.m. Card games including bridge, pinochle and canasta are on Thursday afternoons from 1:30 p.m. – 3:30 p.m. This allows our staff time to clean the room before and after play. People wishing to play here MUST designate one player to call the center at least a day in advance to register the members of the group. All members must be current senior center members. Space for playing games will be limited, so if you do not register your group in advance, there will not be a space for you. No walk-ins will be allowed.
