By the end of March, the English Lutheran Council will make a recommendation for the next season (likely April – August.) On February 21, Trinity Council members, Joni Zink and Eric Knodel, along with Pastor Susan Haukaas and I joined leaders from 19 congregations from Stutsman, Logan, and western Lamoure counties at a gathering at Emmanuel Lutheran in Gackle to listen to one another about our congregations and THE Bond is published monthly by the communities we serve. Lent 2021 Renewal—Wednesdays in Lent Each Wednesday, participate in a home based experience with a Bible verse, song, prayer, object, and a way to connect with others as you connect with God. Every Wednesday through March 24, a devotional video w ill be posted on TrinityJamestown.com and sent via email to everyone on Trinity’s mass email list. If you wish to attend an in-person worship service, St. John's Lutheran Church will have in-person worship each Wednesday at 5:15 pm on March 3, 10, 17, and 24. Trinity's organist, Dick Morris, will lead music for those services. Jamestown Ministerial Lenten Services KSJB AM 600 or 100.1 FM will broadcast a 15 minute Lenten devotional delivered by area pastors at 10:30 on Sunday mornings. This is instead of in-person worship for the community this year. 5

Psalms 33:20 – Our soul waits for the Lord; He is our help and our shield. James 5:7 – Be patient, therefore, brothers until the coming of the Lord. Council Meeting Highlights 7 p.m., Monday, Feb. 15, 2021 Zoom Present: Jon Schlenker, Eric Knodel, Joni Zink, Judy Brueske, Erin Klein, Pastor Susan Haukaas, Pastor Kristi Weber Minutes: Erin Klein Judy moved that the minutes of the January meeting be approved. Seconded by Eric. The motion passed. Treasurer’s Report: Judy Brueske (Tax Forward information not available at this time. Judy will e-mail it to the Council members when it is ready.) ACTION ITEMS 1) Plan 2021 projects and funding sources Current status of $180,000 received on 12/30/2020 $ 5,000 with CSG funds for sanctuary microphone upgrades $ 27,033.46 with Cash Flow Reserve Funds to use as needed $ 15,000 with Repair Cash Flow Reserve Funds to use for repairs $ 54,711.94 in savings as undesignated $101,745.40 remains from $180,000 received Judy moved to approve going forward with blinds in the fellowship hall at a cost not to exceed $12,300. Seconded by Joni. The motion passed. Erin moved to approve going forward with video and sound in the Fellowship Hall and Gathering Space at a cost not to exceed $31,000 using up Connect Share Grow funds ($7,694) and using the estate gift for the balance. Seconded by Judy. The motion passed. 2) Plan order for RENEW spending Cash received through 2/3/201 approximately $94,000 (pledges as of December 31, 2020 approx. $314,000) Mortgage Payments, Facilities Operations (General Fund), 10% gift to Eastern North Dakota Synod, Sanctuary Floor Replacement Sanctuary Lighting all together totals $103,000 and covers 2021 sanctuary projects Eric moved to approve the proposed plan, as outlined above, for 2021 RENEW spending. Seconded by Joni. The motion passed. Items to Prioritize a) 2022 and 2023 will pattern be $45,000 to goals, $5,000 as 10% gift? Consensus = yes b) is mortgage, facilities operation and 10% gift first each year? Consensus = yes c) Council members present for the meeting prioritized projects as follows: 1)Education wing roof replacement 2) $60,000 in savings toward boiler 3) Front steps and sidewalk 4) Principal reduction 5) LED lighting Joni moved to approve the priorities as listed above. 3) Request from Together Counseling (formerly LSSND Abound Counseling) for office space on Thursdays – Church Mutual sent paperwork requesting Together name Trinity as additional insured, and provide certificate of insurance. Jon moved to approve one month of Thursdays and evaluate after that how the building and personnel are affected. Seconded by Eric. The motion passed. This includes $18,000 that represents 10% of the Estate Gift of Doris and Ellis Engel which was sent to fulfill Trinity’s 2020 benevolence to the Eastern North Dakota Synod. Thank you for your generosity that sustains Trinity’s ministries when people continue to participate in worship online more than in-person. RENEW campaign update through January 31, 2020 Donations received = $90,465 These donations to the RENEW campaign allow $30,000 to be directed to cover the mortgage payments for all of 2021 and part of 2022 $30,000 to be directed to facilities operations to be available for repair/maintenance expenses $ 5,000 to be given as a 10% gift to the Eastern North Dakota Synod ($5,000 of every $50,000 as it is received.) $25,465 toward the $30,000 designated for sanctuary floor replacement Thanks to your generosity, Trinity moves forward with a strong foundation on which to grow. 9
