Hoosier Nat ional Forest Pict ured Rocks
what you are truly capable of. BOLD & July 12th - July 16 th August 15th - August 19th
GOLD is a program that will guide you Ages 15- 17 Ages 12- 14
to find the strength in yourself, in the
community around you and in the Isle Royal
outdoors. Whether it is exploring the July 18th - July 27 th
old growth forest of North Cascades Ages 15- 17
National Park, backpacking along the
wild coastline of Olympic National
Park, or summiting Mount Baker, you
will have the opportunity to explore
the beauty of nature, overcome
challenges, try new things, and create
lifelong friendships. We applaud you
for taking the first step.
While navigating the challenges of
travel in the wilderness, we will help
you embrace multicultural leadership
by combining your unique self and our
program?s values. You now have the
chance to live beyond your wildest

July 6 - July 10 / Open to ages 15- 17
Physicality Leadership Opportunity TRIP EXPERIENCE
Experience the beauty of Lake
Superior during a 5- day backpacking
BACKPACKING
adventure at Pictured Rocks
National Lakeshore in Michigan?s
Upper Peninsula. Youth will spend
their days hiking between 2- 8 miles
each day along Lake Superior's
LAKE VIEWS
shoreline and their nights sleeping in
tents underneath stars and forest
canopies. This adventure gives youth
ages 12- 17 the chance to build
confidence, step out of their comfort FOREST VIEWS
zone, and explore the natural
wonders of the UP, while giving
campers a chance to disconnect
from technology and connect with
those around them.
HOOSIER NATIONAL FOREST
August 8 - August 12 / Open to youth ages 12- 14
Physicality Leadership Opportunity
TRIP EXPERIENCE
During this 5- day backpacking
adventure, participants will get to
experience the beauty of the
BACKPACKING
Midwest in Indiana?s Hoosier
National Forest. Participants will
spend their days hiking between 2- 7
miles and their nights sleeping in
tents underneath stars and forest LAKE VIEWS
canopies. Youth on this expedition
will be able to disconnect from
technology, step out of their comfort
zone, and form new connections with
peers while exploring nearby FOREST VIEWS
wilderness spaces.

National Forest. Participants will
spend their days hiking between
2- 7 miles and their nights

ISLE ROYALE
July 18 - July 27 / Open to youth ages 15- 17
Physicality Leadership Opportunity TRIP EXPERIENCE
Explore the pristine wilderness of Isle
Royale National Park during this BACKPACKING
10- day backpacking adventure. After
meeting in Detroit and packing gear,
youth will be transported to Copper
Harbor, MI where they?ll spend a
LAKE VIEWS
night frontcountry camping before
embarking on a 55- mile, 3 hour ferry
ride across Lake Superior the
following morning. Youth will then
spend 8 days enjoying one of our FOREST VIEWS
nation?s least visited national parks,
viewing exceptional wildlife, such as
fox and moose, and exploring trails
along Lake Superior?s shoreline,
before returning to the mainland and
making their way back to Detroit.
