Exchange information between your BlackBerry smartphone and smart accessories, smart payment terminals, smart access points and smart tags.1 Turn on NFC technology and connect to a smart accessory To use NFC technology on your smartphone, NFC technology must be turned on, your smartphone must be unlocked with the backlight turned on and the NFC hotspot on the back center of your smartphone must be within approximately 1 inch of the smart accessory that you want to exchange information with. 1.
