BENCO Electric Cooperative Link JULY 2021 BENCO HOLDS 2021 ANNUAL MEETING Approximately 650 BENCO Electric Cooperative members attended the drive-thru Annual Meeting on Saturday, June 5, 2021. The drive-thru event took place at the Minnesota State University, Mankato parking lots near the Blakeslee Stadium football field. Members were given a copy of the 2020 annual report and ballot upon registering. Three incumbent directors were elected to represent their districts for a three-year term, including Terry Genelin, District 1; John Wells, District 4; and Scott Johnson, District 9. At the organizational meeting following the annual meeting, the Board of Directors elected the following officers: Blake Meshke, President; Brad Leiding, Vice President; Scott Johnson, Secretary; Marilyn Lynch, Treasurer; and Great River Energy Director, Gary Stenzel.

BENCO WELCOMES ROSS RILEY Ross Riley joined BENCO Electric Cooperative as the Energy Services Representative in February, 2021. A native of the area, Ross attended Riverland Community College where he studied in the Construction Electrician program. Following the completion of the two-year program, he began working for local electric companies as an Electrician. Ross has spent most of his time at BENCO actively working with members in the load management program. In his free time, he enjoys fishing and staying busy outdoors, in addition to spending time with his wife and family. Members can contact Ross with Energy Services inquiries at 507-387-7963.
