Bedside Sleeper with Canopy and Music User Guide LJBSCT
Thank you for purchasing the Lil’Jumbl Bedside Sleeper with Canopy and Music. This User Guide is intended to provide you with guidelines to ensure that operation of this product is safe and does not pose risk to the user. Any use that does not conform to the guidelines described in this User Guide may void the limited warranty. Please read all directions before using the product and retain this guide for reference. This product is intended for household use only. It is not intended for commercial use. This product is covered by a limited one-year warranty. Coverage is subject to limits and exclusions. See warranty for details. Safety Precautions THIS PRODUCT IS A BEDSIDE SLEEPER that is intended to provide a sleeping environment for infants that is secured to an adult bed. DO NOT USE AS A STANDALONE SLEEPER. 1. ⚠WARNING: CHOKING HAZARD — Small parts. This product contains small parts and is not suitable for children under 3 years old. 2. FALL HAZARD — To help prevent falls, do not use this product when infant begins to push up on hands and knees or has reached manufacturer’s recommended maximum weight of 19.8 lbs. (9 kg), whichever comes first. 3. SUFFOCATION HAZARD — Infants can suffocate: a. In gaps between an extra pad and side of the bedside sleeper. b. On soft bedding. c. Use only the pad provided by manufacturer. NEVER add a pillow, comforter, or another mattress for padding. 4. To reduce the risk of SIDS, pediatricians recommend healthy infants be placed on their backs to sleep, unless otherwise advised by your physician. 5. ENTRAPMENT HAZARD — To prevent death from entrapment, bedside sleeper must be properly secured to adult bed using the Attachment System. 6. There must be no more than ½" (13 mm) gap between bedside sleeper and adult bed. 7. Check tightness before each use by pulling bedside sleeper in a direction away from adult bed. 8. If gap exceeds ½" (13 mm), DO NOT use product. Do not fill the gap with pillows, blankets or other items that are suffocation hazards. 9. Remove all packaging before using this device. Please keep all packaging materials out of reach of children and pets. 10. Properly dispose of all packing materials immediately after unpacking product, as the bags used for packaging could present a suffocation or choking hazard. 11. Read all instructions carefully before attempting to operate this device. Improper usage could result in serious injury or death. 12. Strings can cause strangulation! Do not place items with a string around a child’s neck, such as hood strings or pacifier cords. Do not suspend strings over a bedside sleeper or cradle or attach strings to toys. 13. DO NOT use if any parts are missing, damaged, or broken. Contact Lil’Jumbl for replacement parts and instructional literature if needed. DO NOT substitute parts. 14. This bedside sleeper is designed for use only with adult beds that are between 24.44" and 27.56" (570 mm – 700 mm) from the floor to the top of an adult mattress. 15. These are the types of adult beds (see below) with which the bedside sleeper CAN OR CANNOT be used. ACCEPTABLE UNACCEPTABLE Box Spring IN LINE MATTRESS, BOX SPRING IN LINE 16. A bedside sleeper is designed to provide a sleeping area for an infant until he or she begins to push up on hands and knees or approximately 5 months of age. Move your child to another sleeping product when your child reaches this stage. 2
17. Always use ALL required parts for each use mode. Check instruction manual for a list of required parts. Periodically check product for loose, damaged, or missing parts. 18. The attachment system must always be used in bedside sleeper mode (see below). 13mm 19. To avoid death from the infant’s neck being caught on the top rail on the side that is next to the adult bed, the top rail must be no higher than the adult bed mattress. 20. Not intended for carrying a baby. 21. NEVER use for a baby who is able to sit upright unassisted. 22. Never leave the child unattended. 23. NEVER place a child under 6 lbs. (3 kg.) or over 19.8 lbs. (9 kg) in the bedside sleeper. 24. NEVER move the bedside sleeper while child is in it. 25. DO NOT use Mobile Arm as a handle. Don’t hang anything on it except provided toys. 26. Never place the bedside sleeper on countertop, table, on or near steps, or on other elevated surfaces. 27. ALWAYS use on a flat floor. Parts and Assembly Included in package: 3 1. Left Foot Tube 6 2. How to assemble Base: 1. Connect Left Foot Tube and Right Foot Tube to Foot Stabilizer Bar as shown. 2. Push down on the spring pin located on the Left Foot Tube. 3. Push the Foot Stabilizer Bar over the spring pin until it locks. 4. Repeat Steps 1 and 2 to connect the Right Foot Tube. How to assemble Sleeping Nest: 1. Place plastic ends of Sleeping Nest into top of Left and Right Foot Tubes until the spring pins are locked. 2. Align the Sleeping Nest Support Bar with the Left and Right Foot Tubes, then push the Sleeping Nest Support Bar over the spring pins until locked. How to attach Mobile: 1. Insert end of Mobile Arm into Music Box Base. 2. Place Music Box Base onto back rail of Sleeping Nest and push until it clicks into place. 3. Attach Toys to the end of the Mobile Arm that is not inserted into Music Box Base. How to position Canopy: 1. Unfold Canopy. 2. Position over top of Sleeping Nest until secured. Using Your Bedside Sleeper Adjusting the height: IMPORTANT: Never adjust height while your baby is in the bedside sleeper. Always make sure the indicator numbers on left and right sides are the same. The Sleeping Nest must be kept level. Failure to do so could result in serious injury or death. 1. To raise, step on the center of the Foot Stabilizer Bar to stabilize the bedside sleeper, while holding both sides Lift bracket of the Sleeping Nest Rail and pulling the Sleeping Nest up to the desired height. 2. To lower, locate the plastic handles on the Left and Right Tube Feet. Pull both handles up simultaneously to release the locks, then push Sleeping Nest down to the desired height. 3. Check to make sure the indicator numbers on the left and right sides are the same. How to raise and lower the front of the Sleeping Nest: 1. Unzip the left and right sides of the front of the Sleeping Nest as shown. 2. There are plastic release buttons on either side, which will be covered by the Sleeping Nest’s fabric cover. 3. Push these buttons to release the front rail of the Sleeping Nest. 4. Push the front of the Sleeping Nest down as shown. 5
How to use Mobile: 1. Use a screwdriver to unscrew the battery compartment cover, as shown. 2. Insert two (2) AA batteries. 3. Replace cover and use the screwdriver to replace the screws. 4. To turn on music, press the middle button. 5. To switch music, press the left button. 6. To control volume, press the right button. Music On/Off Volume Note: The arm can be moved to either side to make it easier to pick up your baby from the bedside sleeper. WARNING: Never use Mobile Arm as a handle. Do not hang anything on Mobile Arm except for the included toys. How to use Retractable Feet: 1. If there is space between the floor and the bottom of your bed, as pictured in Figure 1, you can slide the feet under your bed. 2. If there is no space, as is pictured in Figure 2, push the bedside sleeper's feet against your bed as shown to allow them to retract. Figure 1 Figure 2 3. IMPORTANT: ENSURE THERE IS NO GAP BETWEEN THE BEDSIDE SLEEPER AND YOUR BED. FAILURE TO DO SO MAY RESULT IN INJURY OR DEATH. USE THE INCLUDED STRAP AND PLATE ASSEMBLY TO ELIMINATE ANY GAP. INSTRUCTIONS BELOW How to use the Attachment System 1. This bedside sleeper should be only be used if your bed height is between 24.44" and 27.56" (570 mm – 700 mm). DO NOT use this product as a standalone sleeper. Strap bracket 2. Thread the strap through the openings on the plastic plate, as shown. 3. Place plastic plate on the opposite side of your bed to where you will be placing the bedside sleeper. 4. Run both sides of the strap underneath your bed. Let Plastic plate the ends hang out on the side where you will be Strap placing the bedside sleeper. 5. Attach both ends of the strap to the legs of the bedside sleeper. 6
IMPORTANT: MAKE SURE THE STRAPS ARE SECURELY CONNECTED AND THERE IS NO GAP BETWEEN THE BEDSIDE SLEEPER AND YOUR BED. THERE MUST BE NO MORE THAN ½" (13 MM) GAP BETWEEN BEDSIDE SLEEPER AND ADULT BED. CHECK TIGHTNESS BEFORE EACH USE BY PULLING BEDSIDE SLEEPER IN A DIRECTION AWAY FROM ADULT BED. IF GAP EXCEEDS ½" (13 MM), DO NOT USE PRODUCT. DO NOT FILL THE GAP WITH PILLOWS, BLANKETS OR OTHER ITEMS THAT ARE SUFFOCATION HAZARDS. How to clean your Bedside Sleeper: • To clean mattress cover and fabric parts: remove and machine wash on the gentle cycle or hand wash with cold water and mild detergent. Do not use bleach. Tumble dry on low heat. • To clean mobile and arm: wipe clean with a soft, damp cloth and mild soap. Air dry. Do not immerse in water. • To clean frame: wipe clean with a soft, damp cloth and mild soap. LIMITED WARRANTY TO ORIGINAL CONSUMER This Lil’ Jumbl Bedside Sleeper with Canopy and Music (“Product”), including any accessories included in the original packaging, as supplied and distributed new by an authorized retailer is warranted by C&A Marketing, Inc. (the “Company”) to the original consumer purchaser only, against certain defects in material and workmanship (“Warranty”) as follows: To receive Warranty service, the original consumer purchaser must contact the Company or its authorized service provider for problem determination and service procedures. Proof of purchase in the form of a bill of sale or receipted invoice, evidencing that the Product is within the applicable Warranty period(s), MUST be presented to the Company or its authorized service provider in order to obtain the requested service. Service options, parts availability, and response times may vary and may change at any time. In accordance with applicable law, the Company may require that you furnish additional documents and/or comply with registration requirements before receiving warranty service. The consumer likewise bears all risk of loss or further damage to the Product until delivery to said facility. EXCLUSIONS AND LIMITATIONS The Company warrants the Product against defects in materials and workmanship under normal use for a period of ONE (1) YEAR from the date of retail purchase by the original end-user purchaser (“Warranty Period”). If a hardware defect arises and a valid claim is received within the Warranty Period, the Company, at its sole option and to the extent permitted by law, will either (1) repair the Product defect at no charge, using new or refurbished replacement parts, (2) exchange the Product with a Product that is new or which has been manufactured from new or serviceable used parts and is at least functionally equivalent to the original device, or (3) refund the purchase price of the Product. A replacement Product or part thereof shall enjoy the warranty of the original Product for the remainder of the Warranty Period, or ninety (90) days from the date of replacement or repair, whichever provides you longer protection. When a Product or part is exchanged, any replacement item becomes your property, while the replaced item becomes the Company’s property. Refunds can only be given if the original Product is returned. This Warranty does not apply to: (a) Any non-Lil’ Jumbl Bedside Sleeper with Canopy and Music product, hardware, or software, even if packaged or sold with the Product; (b) Damage caused by use with non-Lil’ Jumbl Bedside Sleeper with Canopy and Music products; (c) Damage caused by accident, abuse, misuse, flood, fire, earthquake, or other external causes; (d) Damage caused by operating the Product outside the permitted or intended uses described by the Company; (e) Damage caused by third party services; (f) A Product or part that has been modified to alter functionality or capability without the written permission of the Company; (g) Consumable parts, such as batteries, fuses, and bulbs; (h) Cosmetic damage; or (i) If any Lil’ Jumbl Bedside Sleeper with Canopy and Music serial number has been removed or defaced. This Warranty is valid only in the country where the consumer purchased the Product, and only applies to Products purchased and serviced in that country. The Company does not warrant that the operation of the Product will be uninterrupted or error-free. The Company is not responsible for damage arising from your failure to follow instructions relating to its use. NOTWITHSTANDING ANYTHING TO THE CONTRARY AND TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, THE COMPANY PROVIDES THE PRODUCT “AS-IS” AND “AS-AVAILABLE” FOR YOUR CONVENIENCE AND THE COMPANY AND ITS LICENSORS AND SUPPLIERS EXPRESSLY DISCLAIM ALL WARRANTIES AND CONDITIONS, WHETHER EXPRESSED, IMPLIED, OR STATUTORY, INCLUDING THE WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, TITLE, QUIET ENJOYMENT, ACCURACY, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT OF THIRD-PARTY RIGHTS. THE COMPANY DOES NOT GUARANTEE ANY SPECIFIC RESULTS FROM THE USE OF THE PRODUCT, OR THAT THE COMPANY WILL CONTINUE TO OFFER OR MAKE AVAILABLE THE PRODUCT FOR ANY PARTICULAR LENGTH OF TIME. THE COMPANY FURTHER DISCLAIMS ALL WARRANTIES AFTER THE EXPRESS WARRANTY PERIOD STATED ABOVE. YOU USE THE PRODUCT AT YOUR OWN DISCRETION AND RISK.
