The Cambridge Conference and Research Center is organizing the Bahrain Halal Expo under the theme of “The Future Vision for the Real Halal” during the period from 6 to 8 October 2022, under the patronage of His Excellency Sheikh Khalid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa - Deputy Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Bahrain. The Expo will be held at the new Bahrain International Exhibition Center in Sakhir Area, in cooperation with the Islamic Center for the Development of Trade (ICDT) in the Kingdom of Morocco – a subsidiary of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, and the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) and the Investment and Technology Promotion Office (ITPO) in the Kingdom of Bahrain. Bahrain Halal Expo covers a range of products, services, industries and others, including food products, livestock, pharmaceutical products, health and medical services, cosmetic products, and various financial, tourism and educational services. Our Mission: Facilitate access to Authentic Halal products throughout the world, certified by Accredited Halal Certifiers. 2
Expo Objectives: 1. Create Awareness of the Commercial Benefits of Halal for the Development of Halal Economy in Bahrain and the region. 2. Provide a platform to showcase & promote “Made in Bahrain” as Authentic Halal Certified products, that is made in compliance with international Halal standards, as well as to showcase & promote the international Halal Certified products in Bahrain. 3. Propose establishment of a most modern Global Halal Reference Center in Bahrain, accessible to the global Halal industry including Manufacturers & Producers, Certifiers and Regulators. 4. Create Awareness about the Importance of maintaining “Halal Compliance” and identify the “Power of Halal Branding”, to open doors of the Global Halal market for OIC countries. 5. Create Awareness about the use of Islamic Finance for the Halal industry to Halalize the entire supply chain. 6. Reaching recommendations to harmonize Halal standards available around the world to remove trade and customs barriers. 7. Propose establishment of a Global Islamic Jurisprudence Council that is specialized on Halal Shariah issues and Halal related Fatwas, to facilitate the global Halal industry in eliminating inconsistencies. 8. To facilitate in creating a global Halal Eco-System that complies with the UN Sustainability Development Goals (SDGs), aimed to achieve a Halal Lifestyle for ALL. 9. Contribution of Halal industry for the Sustainability and Poverty elevation. 10. Cooperation and coordination with Halal centers in Islamic countries, and integration with them in bridging the missing gap in Halal issues. 3
Why The Kingdom Of Bahrain? The Kingdom of Bahrain is considered one of the leading Arab Islamic countries in the application of Islamic law, and one of the first countries in embracing Islamic institutions of all kinds, banking, financial and insurance, and the manufacture of Halal national products, in addition to organizing many events that focus on Islamic banking, and this Expo comes in line with the vision of the Kingdom of Bahrain Economic 2030, which depends on diversifying sources of income through a number of programs to enhance its role as a regional and global center to serve the Halal industry and its services, which will complement its system in other global Islamic activities and events. Supported By: The center is considered the strategic partner with the Ministry of Industry, Commerce and Tourism and the Cambridge Research and Conference Management Company in the Kingdom of Bahrain to organize the activities of the Halal industry in the Kingdom of Bahrain. The Islamic Center for the Development of Trade has been established for more than 35 years in the service of promoting trade and investment among the member states of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation. Ÿ Encouraging and developing regular trade exchanges between Member States. Ÿ Investment development aimed at encouraging trade exchanges between Islamic countries. Ÿ Contributing to raising the production of member states and paving the way for penetration into foreign markets. Ÿ The center also collects and promotes business information and economic events. Ÿ Assisting Member States in activating global trade and negotiations, as well as assisting Islamic institutions. 5
Supported By: The Cambridge Research and Conference Center was established in the Kingdom of Bahrain. It is an Arab center with a distinguished scientific horizon, specialized in scientific research and publishing it through the Cambridge Scientific Journal of International Standard Research, which obtained certificates from research centers and prestigious universities as the journal is issued in a continuous monthly issue under the supervision of higher scientific committees and in cooperation with universities from various Arab countries. The center sponsors and organizes international conferences held in cooperation with Arab universities and international organizations, and participation is open to all researchers. The center also sponsors some art exhibitions. The Center has branches in many Arab countries with the aim of establishing scientific activities, conducting workshops and training in the field of scientific research, and making scientific cooperation protocols that enhance and support scientists and open horizons for them to export their work and create the appropriate environment for their promotion and dissemination in a manner consistent with the spirit of scientific research. The center is headed by Dr. Hafsa Muhammad Al-Gharib, and its membership includes a number of Arab academics. 6
It is expected that the Bahrain International Exhibition and Convention Center in Sakhir will host Bahrain Halal Expo activities, and it is one of the important facilities for the exhibition industry in the Kingdom of Bahrain, which will be inaugurated during the reign of His Majesty the King of the Kingdom of Bahrain during the year 2022. It is one of the largest exhibition centers in the region, and includes 10 halls For exhibitions with a total area of 95 thousand square meters and a conference hall that can accommodate 4000 people and enjoy all the advantages that the exhibitor needs, and this center will qualify to receive annual events of various sizes and sectors. The participant and the visitor can access it with ease and effortlessnes, and it is linked to multiple and easy exits and entrances. 8
EXPO Hall The Organizing Committee will organize an exhibition accompanying the Forum of the Kingdom of Bahrain for the Halal Industry and Services, at the Bahrain International Exhibition Center in the Sakhir area, which is characterized by large halls and large areas for displaying halal-related products of all kinds, in addition to displaying halal products for companies, service institutions, organizations and bodies working in the field of halal Through coordination with the event's organizing committee. 9
It is expected that this expo will discuss many topics related to the Halal industry and its services, in particular the following: Ÿ Introducing Halal and its divisions, and the current economic and technological developments in relation to Halal products. Ÿ Identify the chemical state of food ingredients, food additives, medicines, cosmetics, and what is related to them. Ÿ Discussing the legality of using means of shock and anaesthesia (electrical shock and concussion) and the concept of impossibility and the importance of declaring them on the label of the package data if they are used in the product claimed to be Halal. Ÿ Learn about the history of the Halal industry and its services, the obstacles faced by the industry throughout history, and the solutions offered. Ÿ Discussing the importance of laboratory analytical results and modern techniques used in Halal laboratories and reinterpreting them by offering future Halal workshops dealing with these topics. Ÿ Learn about the economic, commercial, educational and service aspects of the Halal industry and its services. Ÿ Identifying prospects and promising investment opportunities in the Halal industry. Ÿ Emphasizing the importance of using modern technologies and social media platforms as a reliable observatory in spreading the Halal culture and building its economies in food and non-food products. Ÿ Communicating with international universities in providing studies on how to spread the Halal culture to include daily habits and practices. Ÿ Presenting applicable recommendations aimed at promoting the concept of the Halal industry and its services. 11
EXPO Workshops 1. The First Halal Workshop: Transforming Scientific Research and Development Activities in the Halal Industry: A workshop aims to prepare a study and benefit from previous studies on how to secure funding for scientific research and development activities in the Halal industry using the necessary technical knowledge and education. Workshop objectives: Ÿ Mobilizing specialized human and technical resources to develop a plan to finance scientific research and development activities in the world in the field of Halal and its related awareness campaigns. Ÿ Review and evaluate attempts to establish similar funds around the world. Ÿ Conducting in-depth legal and legal studies to decide on an appropriate mechanism for financing scientific research and development activities in the field of Halal. 2. The second workshop by specialization: It is a workshop that will be designed through communication with organizations and companies specialized in the field of the halal industry and its services in various sectors in the field of promotion in cooperation and coordination with the organizing committee of the forum. 3. The third workshop on academic health accreditation: It will be organized in cooperation with the National Health Regulatory Authority (NHRA) in the Kingdom of Bahrain and the participants will be given recognized certificates. 12
Halal Award The organizing committee will work to launch an international award to: Ÿ Promote awareness of the Halal culture internationally and take the necessary measures to achieve this end. Ÿ Strengthen cooperation between all Halal organizations around the world, and make the true Halal standard their common denominator. Ÿ Coordination and promotion of activities in the field of Halal around the world. Ÿ Cooperating, where appropriate, with other organizations that promote Halal trade without barriers. Ÿ Contribute to the removal of obstacles that may exist with the Halal trade. Ÿ Promoting economic development, social progress and improving living standards. Ÿ Honoring those who performed outstandingly in the Halal industry in its various fields. Award Criteria: The award is a mark of quality, excellence and innovation for the distinguished initiatives of companies and individuals around the world. It is divided into 11 awards, namely: 1. The best Halal product according to the Islamic standard. 2. Best Creative Social Media Marketing Campaign. 3. The best Islamic financial services and products. 4. A distinguished project on the social responsibility of Halal companies. 5. Best Halal Project in Hospitality, Travel and Tourism. 6. Best Halal Service Provider. 7. The best innovation in the Halal industry. 8. The best Halal brands. 9. Outstanding personal achievement in the Halal industry. 10. Innovation and development in information technology and social networks. 11. The best Halal company in the management and development of human resources for the human element and attention to raising its competencies, capabilities and professional skills and providing health care. 13
Who should participate? It is expected that more than 500 participants representing different sectors and different categories will participate in this conference, in addition to the participation of a number of companies and countries in the accompanying exhibition with about 750 booth stands divided by sectors. In addition, a number of interested candidates will participate in the workshops accompanying the events on topics or themes concerned with halal and its derivatives. It is also expected that a number of candidates will participate in the awards that will be launched during the forum and the exhibition in the Kingdom of Bahrain.
