From the factory in the forest The forest has no finish line. Consequently, we’ll never reach a final goal regarding en- vironmental work. We want our planet to be the big winner. In 2020, all Termo Original knitting operations moved into Seger Europe’s factory in Röshult, Sweden. The result? All Termo products are knitted using fossil-free energy, environmentally certified wind power – in Sweden. Seger knits most of its products at the factory, where they’re also sewn, finished, and packed. We have a common environmental goal to work toward. We optimize logistics, minimize transport, maximize purchasing routines, and reduce waste. We’re proud to be one of the few companies that still has its production in Swe- den. If you don’t know what you’re doing in our sector, you don’t survive fierce competition, textile industry crises, and threats from cheap imported goods. It is all about an unrivalled combination of technology and tradition. To be able to look into the future and figure out what tomorrow’s athletes and active people will need. Looking for new materials. Combining existing materials with each other to get new properties. Handling knitting machines the same way piano virtuosos handle their grand pianos. Creating our compression laboratory or working tirelessly with different material combinations to find optimal moisture transport between two layers. It’s about having technology as a tradition. Naturally, we believe in wool We’ve said it hundreds, maybe thousands of times – and we’ll say it again: Few laboratories are better than Mother Earth. Of course we’re talking about wool. Probably the best material in the world. Just ask the 1.1 billion sheep worldwide. We use wool in many of our products, because nothing else can replace it – if you list all the attributes of this unique material. Warming and absorption capabilities. An- ti-bacterial. Odorless. Naturalness. Durability. Look and feel. Environmental impact. We’re sold on wool and give it unequivocally our warmest recommendation.

CLIMATE
Our climate is changing and so do we. We’re part of the problem and do everything we
can to be part of the solution. We work long-term regarding our effect on global climate.
And we work more directly when it comes to a different climate.

is not constant. Activity increases it, and sedentary outdoor experiences reduce it.
We’re experts in how the laws of physics affect the body. How absorbed moisture some-
times helps to better keep the heat. What an extra layer of air can do. How to optimize
moisture transport with a smart material mix to divert it from the body. When you need
materials that warm you up – or vice versa – materials that keep you cool and dry.
Dress climate smart for your own sake. It’s not rocket science; it’s common sense.
DESIGN PERFORMANCE & COMFORT Design. Often, this word is frequently mistaken for shape and color. But design is only partly about appearance and aesthetics. Most of our design work is done to create garment functionality, to create garments designed for varying activities, offering the best fit, comfort and performance. That said, we never deny that we strive to provide some eye candy – by maintaining a high level of design via beautiful shapes, properly adapted color palettes, and aes- thetically pleasing products. Issues that our design department deals with daily include: Seam location and strength (very crucial). Leg, sleeve, and sock shaft lengths. Cuff widths. Heel flap lengths. And thickness of the needles to get exactly the right airy feeling in our knitted items. We have 175 years of combined experience and knowledge regarding how to dress properly – regardless of whether you’re in a work environment or in the woods, mountains, or track and field facilities. We create a first layer to wear closest to the body – for all types of activities. Materials for maximum moisture transport. Materials that keep warmth in a wet state – absorb and insulate. Technical materials that reduce chafing and knitted zones that dampen friction. Materials that facilitate mobility and support and protect vulnerable zones. Products developed over decades to do one thing: maximize your well-being and ultimately, your experience or performance. If you have garments that work, you rarely notice them. But the opposite is painfully clear, we promise you.

We account for all these factors when we select materials for our products and the
properties we knit into each product. The time is long gone when you loaded the
knitting machine with cotton yarn and pressed the start button. To meet the market’s
ever-increasing demands for functionality and sustainability, we’re on the leading edge
when it comes to finding new materials. The result? Going forward, our products will
continue to be in the forefront of knitting.
Here are just a few examples of ongoing development work in our factory. Hats are
knitted with reflective yarn to boost wearer safety. Double layers in our underwear
enable a dry, comfortable feeling. Windstopper® keeps you warm on the windiest moun-
tains. Recycled polyamide and bamboo protect the environment, and Friction Relief®
protects feet from blisters. Moisture-absorbing polypropylene terrycloth provides maxi-

Seger HEAT is the essence of Seger’s collective knowledge
integrated into a sock. Made in Sweden and knitted with pure
wind power. Socks in which natural and recycled materials are

Seger HEAT is primarily developed for use in the alpine
world – and works just as well for other activities during which

Everything comes back, in one way or another. Just like one big circuit.
That is why it is important to make conscious choices. In our case, for
example, our new Seger Sense products are made from waste from the
textile industry, which would otherwise have just been thrown away.
Now those scraps become high-tech eco friendly ski- running and hiking
socks instead. All with phenomenal wear resistance and comfort.
Reco Nylon, developed by technology company NUREL, is one of the
most eco friendly alternatives to classic yarn. Allow us to tell you why.

Reco Nylon also markedly reduces the impact on water, air and the ozone layer
through its manufacturing process. All raw materials come from the vicinity of the

Our first tests of sample socks show that athletes perceive the material as more
comfortable on the foot than conventional yarn. We also note that wear resistance is
at least as good, if not better, than the previous generation of Seger Sense Socks.

With roots dating back to the 1920’s, it’s safe to say we know
our field. When many Swedish manufacturers relocated their
production abroad, Termo chose to stay. The innovative climate,
along with a solid level of education and attention to quality
were all decisive factors when we decided to remain in Sweden.
Considering the acclaim from both press and industry for our
innovative achievements, it’s a decision we have never regretted.
We develop and manufacture all fabrics in our own knittery in
Sweden. Termo’s design department continuously develops new
styles, which are then sewn up in our own testing department.
Here, we try out seams, fits and so on until the garment is approved
for production – which takes place in the EU.
