146th Rockhampton Agricultural Show 12-14 June 2019 Arts and Crafts REGULATIONS APPLYING TO ARTS & CRAFT SECTION General 1. All exhibits in this section must be genuinely hand-worked articles, unless otherwise stated. 2. Any article which has been exhibited previously at an Agricultural Show within a 50k radius of Rockhampton is not eligible to compete. 3. Any entry received soiled, damaged or otherwise unfit for display will not be exhibited. 4. Exhibits will not be accepted without entry fees. 5. Entry Fees - $2.00 per entry (General) -$1.00 per entry (Pensioners) -$1.00 per entry (Juvenile) 6. Administration levy - $1.00 per exhibitor. 7. Class tickets must be securely attached to all exhibits. Quilts/Wall hangings to be securely attached to the bottom right hand corner wrong side of article.) These will be available from the Management Office. Please enclose a stamped self-addressed envelope if class tickets are to be returned by post. 8. Quilts and wall hangings will not be accepted without a rod pocket 9. All exhibits must be delivered to the Showgrounds on Saturday, 1 June 2019 and will be received in the James Lawrence Pavilion between 10.00am and 3.00pm. 10. Exhibits will not be available for collection by exhibitor prior to Saturday, 15 June 2019. Exhibits can be collected from the Stewards in the James Lawrence Pavilion on Saturday, 15 June from 9.00am to 1.00pm. The stub of the Class ticket must be retained and presented for easy identification. No Responsibility will be taken for any exhibits left at the Showgrounds more than 24 hours after the end of the Show. 11. All prize money will be paid via cash payment at the Show Office during the Rockhampton Agricultural Show (12-14 June 2019) or during the exhibit collection times stated in the schedule. Any unclaimed cash prize money can be arranged for electronic transfer after the event. 12. Management will not be held responsible for the cost of returning Arts & Craft entries. 13. Management and its agents reserve the right to disqualify any entry which in their opinion fails to meet the entry criteria. They also reserve the right to move any entry to its correct class. 14. The Judge’s decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into. 15. 146th Rockhampton Agricultural Show 12-14 June 2019 Fine Art REGULATIONS APPLYING TO FINE ART SECTION PLEASE NOTE: Due to space restrictions exhibits must not exceed 70cm x 90cm in size General 1. All entries must be the ORIGINAL unaided work of the exhibitor from their own original reference material, NOT COPIED, either wholly or in part from other artist’s work or their reproductions. A Signed Declaration attesting to originality must be declared on the entry form or paintings will be disqualified. 2. Workshop/Seminar or any work started and or completed under tuition is not permitted for entry 3. Paintings must be suitably framed and ready to hang with picture wire or cord. Stretched Canvases with internal frames will be accepted provided the staples are at the back. 4. All entries must have been completed within the last two (2) years. 5. 146th Rockhampton Agricultural Show 12-14 June 2019 Cake Decorating REGULATIONS APPLYING TO CAKE DECORATING SECTION General 1. There will be a limit of two (2) entries per class. 2. Boards or other suitable bases to be no larger than 50cm x 50cm. 3. Height of Open Wedding Cake to be no higher than 70cm, other exhibits to be no higher than 60cm. 4. All exhibits will be put into show cases by the stewards only, entries to be removed by stewards. 5. No part or parts of any previous entry may be used. 6. All exhibits must be able to be carried by one (1) person. 7. All bases must have Cleats, cleats to be attached and to be of suitable height to enable easy lifting. 8. If bottom cake board is on a base board this too must have cleats. Fabric used as an enhancer may be removed by stewards to allow judging of the exhibit. 9. Except where specifically otherwise mentioned, no non-sugar ornaments are allowed (this includes no plastic dolls, no glass or glitter stamens). Reasonable use of wire, fishing line, taped stamens, ribbon, tulle, braids, threads, gelatine, piping jelly and unbreakable gel to support traditional sugar-based icing techniques is permitted and pillars or other means of elevating cakes are permitted. Minimal amounts of dried vegetable matter may be used for stems or stamens. Polenta, semolina and cachous are allowed. No pins are allowed to hold ribbons, etc., and no artificial flowers are allowed. Wire not to penetrate the surface of exhibit, posy picks are permitted. No bought lollies are allowed in all classes. 10. Dummy and edible cake are allowed to be used in Wedding and Special Occasion Cakes. 11. Novelty Cakes must contain edible cake and must be sculpted. 12. Covering of exhibits must consist of fondant, royal icing or any edible form of covering. 13. All entries to be bona fide handiwork of the exhibitor. 14. Lace and extension are not mandatory, however, a variety of piping skills within the bounds of good taste must be executed. 15. Entries will not be accepted without payment of fees. Entry fees and administration levy are listed on each schedule. 16. Class tickets must be securely attached to all exhibits. These will be available from the Management Office. Management will not be held responsible for the cost of returning entries. 17. All exhibits must be delivered to the Showgrounds on Monday, 10 June 2019 and will be received in the James Lawrence Pavilion between 2.00pm and 5.00pm. 18. Exhibits will not be available for collection by exhibitor prior to Saturday, 15 June 2019 between 9.00am to 12.00pm. The stub of the Class ticket must be retained and presented for easy identification. 19. All prize money will be paid via cash payment at the Show Office during the Rockhampton Agricultural Show (12-14 June 2019) or during the exhibit collection times stated in the schedule. Any unclaimed cash prize money can be arranged for electronic transfer after the event. 20. No Responsibility will be taken for any exhibits left at the Showgrounds more than 24 hours after the end of the Show. 21. The Society shall have no liability to any person in respect of any publication referred to above. 13.5. No person shall have any claim against the Society or against any Committee member, member, employee, volunteer or agent of the Society in respect of any act, matter or thing done in good faith during or in connection with the proceedings before the Disciplinary Committee.
