I undertook an Arts/Law double degree because I wanted to combine my passion for law with my social conscience and desire to help my community. In my Arts degree, I pursued Chinese studies and International development. My Chinese studies led me to study abroad in Nanjing in China, where I was exposed to poverty-stricken environments. Meanwhile, my International development subjects showed me some of the solutions that were possible. When I returned from studying abroad in China, I wanted to take action to combat poverty. I came up with the idea for Crepes for Change, which was the first business in a group now known as Society Melbourne.
