Matthew Collins gained an appreciation for the complexity within construction while working in the plumbing industry. ‘I wanted to learn the fundamentals and entirety of the construction process from conception to completion of a project,’ he says. ‘I decided to push myself to the next level and commence a degree in construction management at Griffith.’ During his degree, Matthew has found the group work beneficial in preparing him for industry. ‘I’ve worked in team-based environments just like I would in real construction projects,’ he says. ‘I’ve found the lecturers and tutorial staff to be well-rounded industry professionals who are extremely knowledgeable in their areas of expertise.’ Upon completion of his degree, Matthew plans to work as a Project Manager.
