2021 School Board Elections—Candidate Bios The Saints Peter & Paul School Board currently has three open positions for the 2021-2022 School Year. We have four school parents who have applied for these positions. Below are profiles of the four candidates seeking one of three open positions on the School Board. You will receive an email through the parish’s Constant Contact with a link to the voting survey. If you are interested in voting but do not have an email, or the parish office does not have your correct email, please contact School Board President, Shannon Perrino at 773-791-5775 or shannonperrino@gmail.com. Please note only registered members of the parish who are 18 years of age or older are eligible to vote one-time only. The three candidates with the most votes will be seated on the Board. Parish voting will open on Friday, May 7, 2021 at 5:00PM and will close on Sunday, May 10, 2021 at 5:00PM. Candidate: Jeremy Andersen Children at SSPP: Jocelyn (5th Grade) and Scarlett (1st Grade) SSPP School/Parish involvement (past and present): Our family moved to Naperville approximately 5 years ago and we began attending SSPP parish and soon thereafter we enrolled Jocelyn into SSPP school. Since our arrival, I have actively participated in various committees including the Golf and Fun Fair fundraiser events over the years. What experience and talents can you bring to the SSPP School Board? Most importantly: dedication to the Lord, the Catholic Church and our children’s continued educational and spiritual excellence. On a professional note, I have been in the Construction, Development, and Property Management industry for 20+ years. I have completed and managed an array of Residential, Commercial, and Retail projects across the Chicagoland area. I look forward to using my knowledge and assis- tance to better SSPP in any way I can. Candidate: Katie Moylan Grosskopf Children at SSPP: Libby (2nd Grade) and Tommy (Kindergarten) SSPP School/Parish involvement (past and present): Currently, I am the Troop Leader for the 2nd grade girl scouts, and a lifelong parishioner and alumni of the school. What experience and talents can you bring to the SSPP School Board? In my professional life, I work in Mergers and Acquisitions, which involves planning, communication, financial analysis and leadership. This experience would be beneficial to me as a member of the school board. Because of my long history with the school and the parish, I have seen how the school’s needs have grown and changed. Much of my work in acquisitions is in helping employees and leaders through change management. Our school has a robust history and a bright future based on the strong involvement of the parish, staff and parents. My contributions would be to help in planning for the future as the school continues to change and grow. Candidate: Dana Minger Children at SSPP: Maeve (3rd Grade), Mason (1st Grade) and Mila (incoming K 21/22 year) Saints Peter & Paul School/Parish involvement (past and present): I have worked on the parent advisory board (parent ambassadors) for former Marketing Director, Meg Olson, and helped with the new format for "open house.” I have co-chaired Fun Fair for three years for the raffle baskets, have been a room parent for three years, and volun- teered countless times in the classroom when it was allowed. What experience and talents can you bring to the SSPP School Board? I am a parent of young children and feel I have a vested interest in the well being of SSPP. I feel I am a walking "recruiter" for our school because I am always singing its praises and the value of the catholic education and atmosphere that my children have benefited from. Prior to staying home, I was a labor and delivery nurse at Edward Hospital for 11 years. I am very capable of taking on a project, helping to better the cause and seeing it through. I hope to be of help on our school board. Candidate: Katie Flavin Children at SSPP: Maggie (8th Grade), Lily (6th Grade), Patrick (3rd Grade), Molly (K) and Haley (class of 2019) Saints Peter & Paul School/Parish involvement (past and present): In addition to volunteering for classroom parties and activities, I have previously served as the chair of the "Get Out of the Kitchen" nights and as a mentor to incoming new school families. My husband and I also currently serve on the Parish Seminarian Committee. What experience and talents can you bring to the SSPP School Board? I can bring the experience of having five children attend SSPP since 2010 and the passion and commitment to the continued Catholic faith formation and aca- demic excellence provided by SSPP. I can also bring 16 years of experience in higher education. For the past seven years, I have served on the faculty in a teacher preparation program where I have experience using data-driven approaches to improve educational outcomes. I graduated from Saint Mary's College with a bachelor's degree in chemistry and from the University of Illinois, Urbana- Champaign with a Ph.D. in biochemistry.
