A quarterly magazine of Anandalaya, July - Oct, 2018 : Issue - 5 Antarchetana - The awakening A quarterly magazine of Anandalaya, July 2018 - Sept 2018 : Issue – 5 Education at school means more... Education indeed carves a path for every child to attain knowledge and develop skills to endure the challenges ahead but what makes a child complete? It‟s the quality of education that shapes every child and enables the child to achieve greater success in life. Imparting holistic education is not merely a concept but a pursuit to ensure excellence in learning and this can be done only with passion. A seat of learning established with AES core values becomes monumental in making a child complete. Dr Verghese Kurien From infrastructure to acoustic, Library to Laboratories, Learning centre to Playground, Corridor to Classrooms, Curriculum to Syllabus, Lessons to Learning….all are edified. In order to produce intended result we envisage, ecstatically emanate, embark and elegantly elevate a child. Love to do what you are supposed to… Showing the way to transform crisis into success, depression into elation, Challenge into opportunity and failures into great achievements is what a teacher does. Whenever a critical situation in life of a child arises the teacher must perceive with insight the time, place, situation and people involved and conceive with imagination and creativity about the possible solutions to the crisis. Studying in the same school for 14 years from K.G to the twelfth standard the school becomes the second home for a child. A lot of investment goes into making of a child. But at the end of the day if the child doesn‟t attain a situation in which he knows if he is doing justice to his potentials, all such investments go in vain. Exploring hidden talent of a child and honing the same for his betterment is a moral responsibility of a teacher. For this pursuit one has to be absolutely democratic in thoughts and actions. Child must know what he is worthy of. In fact we all become what we become in life because someone believed in us much before we began to believe in ourselves. This trust of a teacher on his/her students is an important motivating factor which shapes a child ultimately making him proudly proclaim-“ I am My teacher‟s product.” Moreover while discovering a child, a teacher, eventually discovers himself. A lot of transparency is required to be maintained while educating a child and every teacher must practice“ the inevitable law of Transparent values of Education” at all costs .Hidden agenda of education is dangerous and it transforms the concept of holistic education into farce system of giving importance to oneself to appease the management. Feeding the curiosity of a child is the real education not the marks or the grade a teacher awards on the answer scripts of a child. Serving as a ladder to create leaders is whom we call a teacher…in the process he remains where he is...but this is what we need to do. Expecting too much from a child is an undesirable notion. All educators must realise that it is their dharma to create….and create they shall as teachers…twenty years back it was him…..today it is someone else...and in future it will be someone else. The greatest reward of a teacher is when his students come back to him after many years and share with him their success stories….and a step ahead when someone remarks… “Dear Teacher, you sank deep into me.” 1
A quarterly magazine of Anandalaya, July - Sept, 2018 : Issue - 5 Let‟s ponder—In how many more lives are we becoming useful? Without moral and ethical accountability any success assured is merely an educational business. A teacher has to be involved in emotional business. Building blocks of children are those motivating factors which lead them to a state of happiness. A teacher has to be conscious in selecting those blocks so that they make a child live a life worthy of his potential. Any effort made unconsciously even with a fair intention to build them up may turn up to be stumbling stones for any child. Hence it‟s imperative on part of a teacher to ensure that whatever a child is doing, he is doing with a sense of gratitude and he enjoys doing it as well. It gives immense pleasure to be a part of a child‟s rejoice in contrast with evaluating a child in a chamber with a lot of papers blotted in red and then planning a schedule to re-evaluate him for the same components to please the yellow pages of a school‟s examination file. Be useful…infuse a Midas touch….Be the change to change lives…shed the armour of comparison…throw the weapons of criticism…be courageous….take the onus of both the success and the failure of your children ……Be a teacher. Teachers are required to be inspirations for many lives. Leaving a legacy to life is not an easy task. Teachers incarnate in their children. And the legacy of created ethical world is the only asset we all can bank upon. On this auspicious day of Teachers‟ Day I pay my respect to all Gurus of this earth and acknowledge their efforts in making this world a beautiful place to live on. Do the best you can……and leave rest on HIM…… Karmany-evadhikaras-te …Ma phalesukadachana Ma karma-phalahetur-bhur….Ma tesango „stav-akarmani. N.K.Sinha Principal KG SECTION Rakshabandhan Celebration On the occasion of Raksha Bandhan the tiny tots along with cadets of 4 Gujarat Girls BN NCC from Anandalaya went to the NCC Group headquarter, V.
