Getting Started with Vitality How does Vitality work? As a Vitality member, you earn Vitality Points™ for completing healthy activities in categories such as Prevention, Physical Activity and Online Education. Your Vitality Points determine your Vitality Status®, and your Vitality Status determines your rewards. For example, you need to earn 1,000 Vitality Points in 2019 to unlock your medical premium savings and/or increase your current savings. If your spouse/domestic partner is enrolled in your McKesson medical plan and participates in Vitality, they also need to earn 1,000 Vitality Points in 2019 to unlock rewards. The higher your Vitality Status, the more you save. See the chart on p. 11 for more information. As you earn Vitality Points in 2019, your Vitality Status and savings increase. Earn the initial 1,000 Vitality Points in 2019 and then keep earning points until you reach Vitality Basics Platinum Status. The savings you earn in 2019 are yours to keep for all of 2020.
