SCHOLARSHIPS
    Scholarships are getting close to being due.
 Please remember to bring the ones that need
 turned in to my office. Several groups are asking
 if people have applied for their scholarship, and
 not many turned have been in.
    Please let Mrs. Rainey or Mrs. Oliger know if
 you need help!! There are many due Friday 4/12.
 One is due ​TODAY​. And others are coming due
 soon. Some focus on vocational school - if you
 aren't sure if that's you, please ask!

VARSITY TRACK & FIELD
 Correction to reported results for the Winchester
 Meet. The winner of the girls discus and second
 place in the shot put was ​ABBY ADAMS​, not
 sister Laney as reported. Coach Gray regrets the
 error. The corrected results are rerunning below.

Tigers Defeat Falcons - by Coach Gray
   Hagerstown’s girls’ and boys’ track squads both
 recorded victories against Winchester on a cool
 and breezy evening at the Falcon’s home facility.
 The Tiger girls tallied 93 points to the Falcons’ 30
 and the boys finished with an 84-39 count.
   Madison Pruitt was a double winner, taking the
 200 and high jump, and Ella Warvel also earned
 two blues in the 100 and 300 hurdles. Other
 individual winners were Hallie Rogers, 400, Abby
 Adams, disc, and Kaelynn Shultz, shot. The
 Tigers also won all three relays.
   The only double-winner for the boys was Ryan
 Golliher in shot and disc. Single wins went to
 Holden Robinson, 400, Logan Tuttle 800, Dylan

Napier high jump, and Branton Payne long jump.
Like the girls, the boys were victorious in all three
relays.

Varsity Baseball - by Dan Davis Jr.
    The Tigers roll on to victory versus quite
 possibly the best hitting team we’ve seen all
 season in the Shenandoah Raiders. Although
 outhit seven to two, Brady Mcmillan managed
 another gem throwing six innings allowing 6 hits
 while fanning 8 and walking only 1 Raider batter
 for the nail biting 4-3 victory.
    Although the Tigers managed only two hits, they
 still proved tough at the plate with several quality
 at bats, long pitch counts, and timely contact while
 only striking out 3 times against some good Raider
 pitching.

After falling behind 1-0 in the third, a trio of Tiger
batters led off the bottom of the frame with some
great plate appearances... Derek Davis began the
rally by battling the Raider pitcher to an 8 pitch
base on balls, followed by Grant Vinson who also
walked on four straight. Cody Swimm then singled
to right bringing in Davis to tie the game. After a
Swimm steal, Camden Rhoades followed with a
Sac fly to right which gave the Tigers the lead for
good. Swimm later scored on a hard hit ball to
short by Dominic David Anderson.

IU Fort Wayne while
rehabbing following Tommy
John surgery...
  I share Drew’s picture because I draw some
parallels between his sophomore year, and the
onset of what will be a great career for this year’s

sensational sophomore Dominic Anderson.
Becoming a varsity pitcher is very difficult.
Although most really don’t comprehend, it’s
painful... it’s demanding both mentally and
physically... it’s even more difficult when you are
15 or 16 years old and expected to compete
against 18- and 19-year-old upperclassmen.
There are 18-20 players in the game and you’re
the only one with the ball. Not everyone is cut out
for this challenge. But Drew was, and Dom is
proving he belongs there also.
   Dominic took a major step forward tonight under
extreme pressure, in a one-run game, with the
tying run on second base and the go ahead on
first, and some 6-4 giant at the plate who had
already proven he can demolish a baseball... after
struggling with control and his blood pressure near
stroke level early in the inning, Dom sat the
monster down on three straight pitches to secure
the Tiger victory. This was a great great night for
this young pitcher against a very good program.
Congrats Dom.

Your Tigers travel to #4 ranked Monroe Central
Saturday morning for a JV/Varsity double header.
The varsity game starts at 11am with JV to follow.
