ANDERSON CENTER STATION REDEVELOPMENT Anderson Center Station Park & Ride constructed in 2005 and 2006 as permanent home for METRO riders Groundswell of demand for development opportunities in the center of the community – sought interest from developers for a public / private development Facilitate development of “Downtown Anderson”, to add living to shopping, dining, work, and entertainment Four proposals received, now working with Hills Properties on a 200 upscale apartment community, which contains public parking / park and ride Development agreement in place, zoning secured in May, and due diligence period (site testing, design, permits, etc.) continues, working towards construction beginning in 2021 4 Anderson Township Update R
CLOUGH PIKE CORRIDOR STUDY Clough Pike is a key east‐west 6‐mile corridor in Anderson Targeted improvements have been made in the last 20 years, but unlike parallel routes, Beechmont Avenue & SR 32, a comprehensive assessment has never been undertaken Survey issued in summer 2019 resulted in variety of concerns, ideas, suggestions, etc. from 800+ participants Qualification packages received from 10 engineering firms, and in January 2020 began work with Stantec Engineering ‐ the following tasks will be completed by late summer 2020: Traffic signal operations Travel patterns & turning movements Potential opportunities for intersection improvement Online survey to solicit input on suggested improvements at www.AndersonTownship.org, through early July 5 Anderson Township Update R
KELLOGG AVENUE GATEWAY ENHANCEMENTS Anderson Township’s Ohio Riverfront Plan established several goals aimed at strengthening the function, appearance and economic potential of the area Discussions have centered on the Kellogg Avenue interchange (which is located in the City of Cincinnati) and surrounding gateways into the Township and California Request for Proposals for design services was issued, aimed at streetscape, gateway, wayfinding and marketing improvements to help define this area, with 5 submittals Board authorized Township to work with MSP Design, and study began in February, with completion by fall Input currently being solicited through survey at www.AndersonTownship.org. 6 Anderson Township Update R
STORMWATER MANAGEMENT Goal to minimize peak storm events and impacts on creek erosion and flooding to downstream properties Accelerating efforts to ensure that stormwater detention basins in our community (over 120 above ground) are working as designed Educational materials and mailings distributed to property owners and Homeowners Associations to help with awareness and understanding Possible retrofit of basins to increase capacity Proceeding with possible bypass channel on Clough Creek west of Newtown Road Potential property acquisition to minimize impervious surfaces Potential requirements for property owner maintenance 7 Anderson Township Update R
ANDERSON TOWNSHIP BUSINESS SURVEY Anderson Township, working with the Anderson Area Chamber of Commerce, administered a survey of local businesses in July 2019 (last undertaken in 2010) Effort to get a “pulse”, including business demographics, industry outlook, work force, and community service needs Over 100 responses (17% response rate) provided valuable data, and comments, that will be key to future planning Anderson Township, in conjunction with the Chamber, the Township’s Economic Development Committee, and the Forest Hills School District will be following up on specific comments or needs (“Red Flags” and Workforce development are focus) Considering new survey to gauge Covid‐19 direction 8 Anderson Township Update R
COMPREHENSIVE PLAN UPDATE Anderson Township adopted it’s first Comprehensive Plan in 2005, which was updated in 2011, and 2016 The 5‐Year Update to this planning document, which guides overall land use policy and planning decisions for the Township, will begin later this year Public input, in a variety of traditional and nontraditional strategies, will be a highlight of this update Planning process slated to begin later this summer with development of consultant selection guidelines to begin effort this fall/winter Adoption process is targeted for the end of 2021 9 Anderson Township Update R
CENSUS 2020 The decennial Census is the largest peace time effort undertaken by the Federal Government Still a large need for temporary employees for a variety of duties, in our area, and nation‐wide Census is key to fair representation, redistricting, allocation of Federal funding, key data for business and policy decisions, etc. Census 2020 will be first to allow for online responses, and “call in”, and for most will take just a few minutes to complete Census Bureau correspondence is “in the mail” and responses may be submitted March 12th through October – Anderson has highest mail in response rate of any Southwest Ohio Township! Fill out and return form or complete online to not only ensure most accurate information, but avoid a visit by a Census worker and to save Federal tax dollars! 10 Anderson Township Update R

BEECHMONT AVENUE RESTRIPING Consolidation of various plans which affect Beechmont Avenue occurred in 2018 Part of plan established recommendations for use of the paved roadway area by “neighborhood” ODOT relying on these recommendations for new striping pattern to occur after roadway paving later this year Similar to “Downtown Anderson” and Eight Mile intersection, this seeks to best use the pavement and right of way for all forms of transportation New pattern to include bike lane or “Sharrow” markings, as well as introduction of on street parking west of Salem Road 20 Anderson Township Update R
ANDERSON TRAILS IMPROVEMENTS Markley Road sidewalks from James Hill to Woodcroft was constructed in 2019, in conjunction with restriping for walking lane and sharrows on Woodcroft Completed connection from Eaglesknoll to Anderson High School, crossing Forest Road, in early 2020 Small sidewalk segments on Nordyke, near Koszo, and Woodruff, near Elderwood, planned for 2020 with subdivision construction Planning continues on Little Miami & Ohio River Trail connections to our west to complete links in that area in 2021 Shoulder of US 52 converted to bike lanes to help with short term safety between Five Mile and Clermont County Engineering work underway on Paddison, from Beechmont to Bluecrest, using grant funds– planed for 2021 construction 21 Anderson Township Update R
CURB & SIDEWALK REPAIRS 2020 Curb Anderson Public Works facilitated curb and sidewalk repairs, Replacement List Stonehouse Lane with repaving, along 28 streets in 2018‐19 (2 year cycle), and 14 Eglington Court planned for 2020‐21 Blackthorn Drive Additional 45+ streets to see pavement maintenance in 2020 Dunview Court Heatherglen Drive Additional sidewalk repair on over 25 additional roadways to Asbury Hills Drive (west of Asbury) update Township sidewalk system, over $1 Million in 5‐Year Shawnee Trace Court program, wrapped up in 2019 Indian Trace Court “Street” trees (for front yard, not for ROW planting) offered Turpin Hills Drive Ropes Drive to owners along Township project areas Court Ropes Lane Lengwood Drive Saddleback Drive Shadowslope Lane 22 R
ROADWAY REPAIRS Infrastructure repairs underway on a number of through roadways in community County paving occurred on Little Dry Run last spring Paving of Bridle Road is planned for 2020, and Broadwell, a portion of Mt. Carmel, and the Asbury Road hill (with drainage improvements) in 2021 Beechmont paving is planned for construction in early July (well ahead of schedule) Work on I‐275 began in May 2018 and has essentially wrapped up, with remaining work focusing on paving and bridge painting 23 Anderson Township Update R
BEECH ACRES RECPLEX Beech Acres RecPlex, built in 1969, was leased by the Anderson Park District from Beech Acres Parenting Center Anderson Township purchased RecPlex, and surrounding 6 acres, in early 2019 from Beech Acres to secure indoor recreation space for community Anderson Park District now leasing facility from Anderson Township and continue to provide programs and events Anderson Township, in conjunction with the Anderson Park District, is investing over $2.1 Million in upgrades to HVAC, lighting, and interior finishes to create efficient space Funds for purchase and improvements being derived from TIF funds, with assistance from the Forest Hills School District Completion scheduled for late summer 2020 24 Anderson Township Update R
TOWNSHIP PROPERTY Township’s Greenspace Program began in 1990 ‐ turns 30 Years Old in 2020! Today over 700 Acres in Caretaking No ongoing levy, but some funds available and program still active (donations, inspections, etc.) Manage several hundred additional acres of “non Greenspace” properties, with pending acquisition Major 100+ acre acquisition in December 2016 around Ayers/Hopper Road subdivisions 3 Acre Donation on Lawyer Road in 2019 25 Anderson Township Update R
