www.AmherstMaRec.org Message from our Director... Amherst Recreation Dear Friends, Thank you for your continued support of Amherst Recreation! It has been a wonderful summer filled with great programs, camps and swimming at our outdoor pools. The new playground and spray pad at Groff Park have been very popular and the new basketball courts at Mill River Recreation Area should be completed soon. I am pleased to be serving in an interim capacity as the Town searches for a dynamic new leader for the depart- ment. Look for updates on the search process on our website. It is a challenging time for all of us as we work together to come through the pandemic. Our dedicated team of staff, instructors, teachers, coaches and mentors are looking forward to serving you in the months ahead. I’d like to again thank former Director Barb Bilz for her great leadership and vision during the past 20 years. Special thanks also to our outgoing Commission Members, Meg Rosa, Becky Demling and Stephanie Jackson. I would also like to welcome Sanjay Arwade and Matt Cain to the Commission. Thank you all for stepping up to serve the Amherst community. As the nights get cooler and the air a bit crisper we begin to think about the upcoming school year and our fall program offerings.
