All you need to know: Drive 07 – RICK HILL PORSCHE – Customer Appreciation Day @ BOTD Date: 05/16/2021 (Sunday) Route length: 80 miles – 1:45 hours + lunch reception & test drive opportunity Meeting Point: Virginia Welcome Center & Rest Area - 66 Island Rd, Bristol, VA at (Hwy I-81) Meeting Time: 9:00 am Organizer: Rick Hill Porsche RSVP at: https://wtrpca.org/ *** This is not a sanctioned PCA event. PCA insurance does not apply. *** Event Summary RICK HILL IMPORTS will welcome customers and Porsche Club members at the BACK OF THE DRAGON Welcome Center after a group drive on May 16. There are few other things reserved to that day: Porsche Test Drive at BOTD, PCA prizes, live music and more. RSVP using the form below. More details to come soon... With thirty-two miles and over three hundred curves, the Back of the Dragon is the premier riding road in the nation! Ideal for sports cars like our beautiful Porsche’s, this road offers the most spectacular views you can find in the Appalachians. Crossing three mountains in its course from Marion to Tazewell, VA, the Back of the Dragon offers dragging curves, switchbacks, limited access and elevation changes that no other route can offer. Route Details Google Maps: https://goo.gl/maps/Pbp3XY4eUvyqer1s6 • 9:00 – Meet at Virginia Welcome Center & Rest Area (Hwy I-81) - 66 Island Rd, Bristol, VA • TURN RIGHT on HWY I-81 and drive 45 miles toward Marion • EXIT at Exit 47 to VA-16 toward Marion • Turn LEFT at Rifton Dr (VA-16) and drive 0.9 miles • Turn LEFT at US-11 S • Turn RIGHT at VA-16 (after Walmart and Citgo) and drive 32 miles – Enjoy the Back of the Dragon ride! • At US-19 intersection, CONTINUE towards VA-16 / Tazwell and drive 2 miles to arrive at the destination: Back of the Dragon Welcome Center - 592 W Main St, Tazewell, VA 24651 When we arrive at the Back of the Dragon Welcome Center, Rick Hill Porsche will treat us with lunch while we enjoy some live music and passengers enjoy some adult beverage that are brewed there at the Welcome Center.
Rick Hill Porsche will have a car for test-drive and you don’t want miss that! PCA will have some prizes and we will all have some good times! Please, be respectful to everyone’s choices of social distancing during this event. Take Steps to Protect Yourself and Others: • Stay home when you are sick (request a refund). • Stay home if you have been in contact with someone in the last two weeks who has been sick. • Bring your own personal protective equipment (PPE), including masks, gloves, hand sanitizer and disinfectant. • Practice social distancing of at least 6 feet between non-cohabitating attendees. • Wear your face mask when in the presence of others. • Physical contact is discouraged. Refrain from shaking hands, fist-bumps and hugs. • Wash your hands frequently with soap and water for at least 20 seconds especially before eating and after blowing your nose, coughing, or sneezing. • If soap and water are not readily available, use an alcohol-based hand sanitizer with at least 60% alcohol. • Refrain from touching your eyes, nose, and mouth. • Cover your cough or sneeze with a tissue, then throw the tissue into the trash. • Clean and disinfect frequently touched objects and surfaces using a regular household cleaning spray or wipe. • Use best judgement and common sense regarding your fellow members’ good health. Region Leadership including the Event Chair have the authority to require you to leave if you cannot comply with these community protection measures. Note that, the use of face mask is “encouraged” but not mandatory. You must observe any local, state or federal law regard the use of face mask. We, the organizers, will be taking other precautions to make this event safe to everyone.
