BACKGROUND OF THE INSTITUTION Malla Reddy Institute of Engineering and Technology Malla Reddy Institute of Engineering and Technology (MRIET) was established in the year 2007 under the flagship of Malla Reddy Group of institutions which is the largest cluster of technical institutions in the state of Telangana is located in Maisammaguda village amidst lush green environs spread over 10.06 acres of land. The Institution catered to the holistic development of the young talents and carved a niche for itself among the academic institutions of its kind within the vicinity. With its reputation as the premier educational institution in the State, MRIET has been escalating into unexplored academic heights successfully. CURRICULUM The institution being an affiliated college follows the curriculum prescribed by the University. In curriculum delivery utmost importance is given to the Outcome Based Education. Choice Based Credit System (CBCS) has been implemented from the Academic Year 2016-17 in all Programs i.e. 100 % (R16) as per JNTUH norms. Various courses for promoting the values and ethics and thus addressing the cross-cutting issues are taught with utmost importance. Number of value-added courses imparting transferable and life skills are offered. Courses like Business English Communication, Code Tantra, CRT etc. are offered to enhance the skills of students. Structured feedback on curriculum, teaching- learning process, infrastructural facilities and student support services is collected from Students, Teachers, Employers, Alumni and Parents . It is analyzed and necessary actions are initiated for bridging the gap. TEACHING – LEARNING The college exercises best practice in achieving academic excellence through continuous evaluation and effective mentoring. Institute imparts education through Student centric methods such as Experiential Learning, Participative learning and Problem Solving Methodologies. All the faculty use ICT and flipped classroom methods for effective teaching – learning. Importance is given to Outcome based Education. Evaluation process consists of two components – i) The end semester examination conducted by the University-75% ii) Continuous internal evaluation conducted by the institution - 25%. The whole mechanism of continuous assessment is made transparent and robust. R&D ACTIVITIES Research and Development Center is created with the main objective to promote the Research culture among the faculty and students by creating a platform for exchanging and implementing the innovative ideas among institution and various research organizations in the cutting edge technologies related to Science and Engineering.

MRIET has conducted International Conference on Emerging Trends in Engineering, Technology & Sciences - ICETETS in the years 2015, 2016, 2017 & 2018 MRIET has conducted a Special Session of IEEE International Conference on Computing for Sustainable Global Development in association with IEEE Delhi Section, GGSIP University, Malla Reddy Institute of Engineering and Technology Hyderabad, IETE Delhi Centre, ISTE Delhi Section, CSI Delhi Chapter and IET Delhi Local Networks to be held during 14th – 16th March, 2018 at Bharati Vidyapeeth, New Delhi (INDIA) Conference Special session on “SOFTWARE DEFINED ARCHITECTURE” IEEE Conference Record Number is: 42835 MRIET has achieved AICTE Internshala All India Ranking 377 out of 2260, Zonal Ranking is 128 out of 932, during the year – 2019-20 The Research Project titled “A multi-Threaded Reconfigurable Real Time sensor Operating System for Wireless Sensor Networks”, by Dr. N Rajesha and Dr. M Ashok, is under Consideration with DST CHORD Division File Number: NSTMIS/2020/729 MRIET is Collaborated with 26 Industries and 1 Foreign University. During the last five years about 60 workshops/seminars are conducted on Industry- Academia Innovative practices. Six International conferences are organized. INFRASTRUCTURE MRIET campus is in lush green environs spread over 10.06 acres of land with a built up area measuring 17467 Sq.m. and has got excellent infrastructure. All the class rooms are ICT enabled with 07 smart class rooms, and the laboratories are well equipped with state-of-the-art equipment’s. There are 02 auditoriums, 01seminar hall, playground, indoor stadium to conduct various co- curricular and extracurricular activities, splendid library (with 30775 volumes and 4614 titles , subscription of many national and International Journals, access to online learning courses such as NPTEL etc., remote access to journals), CCTV cameras, hygienic RO water purifier system, congenial hostels, salubrious canteen .The college has Wi-Fi Net connectivity with 250 mbps speed. The college has adequate number of computers as per the norms of AICTE.
STUDENT SUPPORT Around 56% of students on average are benefited by scholarships and free ships provided by the Government. Number of capability enhancement and development programs is organized for competitive examination, Career counseling, soft skill development, Yoga & meditation and Personal Counseling. About 40% students are benefitted through these programs. The Grievance cell is constituted which takes care of student grievances including sexual harassment and ragging cases. The College has excellent facilities for Sports and Games and our students excelled in sports and bagged many medals at State/National/International level. The College has a very active Alumni association registered as MAA (Malla Reddy Alumni Association) At present the Alumni have been very active in contributing to the value addition of the students. The most significant contribution of the Alumni is through their reputation at their work place which has led to repeat placement drives in succeeding years at our college. The institution gives utmost importance to the safety and security of students in the campus. The whole campus is under electronic surveillance. Vigilant monitoring of the campus is ensured by the installation of 40 CCTV cameras . The institution offers Induction Programme every year to first year students to impart Human Values. Professional ethics, gender sensitivity and other cross cutting issues are inculcated in curriculum. Students are involved in various activities through NSS for promotion of universal values, national values, human values, national integration, communal harmony and social cohesion as well as for observance of fundamental duties. E GOVERNANCE The College Implements e-governance in areas of operation - Planning and Development, Administration, Finance and Accounts, Student Admission & Support and Examinations. The College is using ERP software BEE’S in all its processes. Online fee payment facility is also provided for the students. The examination system is also computerized. INTERNAL QUALITY ASSURANCE A well-established Internal Quality Assurance Cell is very active in implementing the quality measures in the institution. The IQAC continuously collects feedback from various stake holders and depending on the feedback initiates corrective measures to address concerned issues.
In addition, this cell initiates number of professional development /administrative training programs for students and Faculty at the college level. IQAC initiates various staff welfare programs and also ensures periodic Academic and Administrative Audit. TEACHING AND LEARNING METHODS ADOPTED BY COLLEGE Teaching, Learning and Evaluation Schedules (Academic Calendar, Teaching Plan and Evaluation Blueprint) JNTU, Hyderabad issues the academic calendar containing teaching and exam schedules ,based on that department wise academic calenders are prepared and followed. Assessment of student learning levels is done every year to identify the slow learners and advanced learners. Students identified as advanced learners are supported to enhance their technical and communicational skills. There exists an effective mechanism for redressal of grievances with reference to the evaluation. Institutional Level The students who have grievance in the evaluation process can approach the faculty member who had evaluated the answer sheets for its redressal. Students Faculty HOD Principal University Level The student can review his/her answer sheets after obtaining the photocopy of the answer sheet and apply for re-evaluation on the recommendation of the head of the department. INFRASTRUCTURE AMENITIES AND PROGRAMS CONDUCTED CAMPUS As the Institute is established in a very accessible geographical location, it can be well commuted by air, rail, and road. The campus being in Maisammaguda has accessibility to several important centres in and around the city is ensured of. It is 20 Km away from Secunderabad Railway Station and 18 Km from Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University Hyderabad, Kukatpally, Hyderabad in a serene and fresh-breath environment. • The Institute campus extends over an area of 10.06 acres of the land. The building comprises of four floors with all branches located conveniently. • The Ground floor is allotted for Management office, Principal’s office, Board Room, Dean’s office, Administration Wing, English Language Communication Skills lab, Examination Branch, Central Library, Server room, R & D center, IQAC cell, Yoga center, Women empowerment cell, counselling room and health center. • The First floor is allocated to Computer Science Engineering department along with Class Rooms, Department Library (CSE), Laboratories and Seminar hall Information Technology Department Class Rooms and Laboratories, JAVA club and anti-ragging cell • The Second floor comprises of Freshmen Engineering Department, Class Rooms and Laboratories, Electrical and Electronics department, Ampere club and NSS cell. • The Third floor comprises Electronics & Communication Engineering Department Class Rooms and Laboratories, Department Library (ECE), Robotics club and Grievance Redressal Cell. • The fourth floor comprises of Advanced Communication Skills Lab, Electrical and Electronics department Laboratories, Drawing Hall, along with Class Rooms. • In addition to this, the HODs Rooms and Staff Rooms for respective departments are available in the respective floors. The college has an open-air Auditorium, spacious Playgrounds, Tennis Courts, Foot Ball Court, Cricket Ground, Physical Education Room and Canteen. .
POWER BACKUP The College is facilitated with a power backup of 240 KVA capacity out of which 120 KVA Capacity generator and 120 KVA capacity UPS system is available to cater to the needs of Laboratory to ensure uninterrupted power supply. COMPUTER CENTRE The Computer Centre caters to the technological requirements of the students and the faculty providing them access to information on the latest trends in Engineering and Technology. The College has 1350 terminals with necessary accessories and peripherals which are supported by appropriate software. The Institute is equipped with excellent computing facility and is networked through LAN. Internet facility with 250 Mbps bandwidth is available to all academic, administrative units.
E – CLASS ROOMS There are overall 52 class rooms, each with a seating capacity of 72. All are E - Class rooms equipped with LCD projectors and Computers. Video lectures, web-based learning and direct telecast through interactive learning are provided in the electronic classrooms. The institute also has 7 smart class rooms. SEMINAR HALLS
CONFERENCE HALL AND AUDITORIUM The Institute is credited with a sophisticated Board-Room, to hold important meetings. Besides, there is an Auditorium with 1000 seating capacity for conducting / organizing Seminars, Conferences and Guest Lecturers. The Orientation Programs, Fresher’s Day, Parents Meet, Cultural Meets and Annual Day are facilitated in the Open-air Auditorium of the institution. ENGLISH LANGUAGE COMMUNICATION SKILLS LABORATORY The English Language Communication Skills is attributed vital priority among the other skills which the students need to imbibe. The college has altogether four unique centers of excellence for imparting Communication and Soft Skills to the learners. While the Two CALL laboratories facilitate commuter software and other supporting materials for the students of First year and Third year respectively to train themselves with the necessary skills, the Life Skills Laboratory meant for First year students enables training in English language activities/tasks accompanied with suitable body language. The Advanced Communications Skills Laboratory is another unique place that caters to the language practice sessions of Third year students such as Group Discussions, Debates, Role-Plays and Interview Skills. In addition to the curricular needs, the laboratories are equipped with varieties of competitive software which students can access to prepare for GRE, TOEFL, IELTS and other competitive

LIBRARY The Central Library provides Information Sources and Services with Bibliographic, Digital and Printed resources to quench the intellectual needs of the staff and the student community. It has huge collection of text and reference books of Engineering, Science and Humanities, CD/DVDs, Journals, Magazines and Newspapers. A well spaced-out reading-room and reference-section with extensive reading material on GATE, GRE, TOEFL, GMAT, CAT and UPSC are also available. We also house a Book-Bank for general as well as SC/ST students. The library is Wi-Fi enabled and its premises are under surveillance through Closed Circuit Cameras for security purposes. The sprawling space of 820.22 Sq.m. provides a seating capacity for 200 individuals. FACILITIES TRANSPORT The College runs a fleet of 55 buses in various routes connecting the important points of the twin cities to meet the transportation needs of the Students and the Staff. In addition to college transportation, TSRTC runs a number of buses with a frequency of 10 minutes. The college also provides TSRTC bus pass counter for fresh and renewal of student bus passes for the benefit of students.
CANTEEN Adequate and requisite varieties of food items are provided in the College canteen for the convenience of the Students and the Staff at subsidized prices. Hygiene is ensured during the supply.
BANKING FACILITIES The college facilitates payment of salaries of all the employees through the bank. It is ensured that the bank meets the financial requirements and transactions of the Staff and the Students within the stipulated norms. The Bank has approximately 3000 account holders availing the facilities. HEALTH CENTRE The College maintains a health-care center headed by a medical officer. Medical help is available all throughout the academic year during college hours. A sick room with beds offers necessary assistance under medical emergencies. Besides, First-Aid kits are made available at major points such as Administration Office, all Departments, Buses, etc. The services of Malla Reddy hospital can be availed during medical emergency.
HOSTELS MRIET has separate hostel facility for both boys and girls to accommodate 500 students in each. The buildings are well ventilated, spacious, and equipped with adequate furniture, and a health center headed by a Medical Officer who is assisted by a Nurse and an Ambulance. The Wardens of both the hostels are well experienced and they look after hygiene, study hours, security, maintenance, etc.
