Format Of Competition FIG & UAG Rules Trampoline & Tumbling Individual Team Colours Seniors - Protea Colours Trampoline & Tumbling Juniors - Federation Colours Funding All selected team members will be required to self-fund all Trampoline & Tumbling expenses for the event, which may also include a levy for the coaches and judges costs if necessary. Budget Amount R25,000.00 per gymnast Trampoline & Tumbling Funding Priorities Coaches & Judges PDI Athletes Eligibility • SAGF Registered Members Trampoline & Tumbling • RSA Citizens • RSA Passport – Must be valid for 6 months after the event. • Valid FIG Licence. Please note that gymnasts who need to apply or renew their licences must go on the website https://adel.wada-ama.org, create an account with their own email address and complete the ALPHA course. Once completed an exam is written (80% pass rate) and then will be able to download the ALPHA certificate. A copy must be sent to the SAGF office immediately to register or renew the licence. • Only gymnasts who competed at the 2019 National Championships and who are or the correct age will be considered for selection. • Gymnasts who have a valid reason for missing the National Championships in 2019, may be considered providing they give proof of such reason and an official application to be considered for the trial. This must reach the TPC no later than the 20th December 2019 • Gymnasts who live and train outside of South Africa and who are registered SAGF members in good standing, may also apply to attend the trial. This application must motivate the level of the gymnast, recent results and videos of full routines on selected apparatus done between September 2019 and December 20, 2019. This application must reach the TPC no later than 20 December 2019 Categories Pre-Juniors (Ages 10-12) Male & Female Trampoline & Tumbling Juniors (Ages 13-16) Male & Female Seniors (Ages 17+) Male & Female Performance Targets One of the top three positions in all categories. Trampoline & Tumbling Selection Events & Venue Trials 22 Feb, 2020 – Venue to be advised Trampoline & Tumbling • Pre-Junior Team will consist up to 4 pre-junior gymnasts • Junior Team will consist up to 4 junior gymnasts • Senior Team will consist up to 4 junior gymnasts • A reserve gymnast for each category will be identified in case of a late injury • Synchro teams where it is possible will be formed by the TPC from the individual trampoline competitors
Illness, Injury or Removal A gymnast can be removed from the team on the following basis Trampoline & Tumbling 1. Non-compliance in training 2. Violation of the codes of behavior & SAGF rules & regulations 3. Injuries at a late stage 4. Not following instructions of Head of Delegation and/or Designated Manager Judge Selection Trampoline, Double Mini & Tumbling Trampoline & Tumbling Selection of judges - Brevet - On merit or rotation. According to UAG rules, three judges one per discipline with a brevet qualification are eligible to judge. Judges might be required to pay or contribute towards their own costs. Coach Selection Trampoline, Double Mini & Tumbling Trampoline & Tumbling • The TPC will make the final decision regarding the appointment of coaches and will always try to ensure that coaches who travel with the team are responsible, conscientious, team players who are capable of treating all gymnasts fairly and without bias. The number of competitors will determine the number of official coaches selected. Coaches will be required to sign and abide by the SAGF Code of Conduct. • The coach with the most senior competitors will be selected as the Head Coach. Minimum qualification is a FIG2. The club where the gymnast trains for most of the year, is the club the gymnast is a part of. • In the case of a tie, the coach with the highest ranked gymnast will be selected. • If in the opinion of the TPC, we find the nominated coach not suitably experienced or qualified, we may appoint the next gymnasts coach who might be more qualified. • In the event of a tie, the execution score will be taken into consideration. • One coach for the seniors and one coach for the juniors will be selected as official coaches. The junior coach will be selected by the discipline and will need a minimum qualification of FIG1. • Personal coaches will be allowed. • Personal coaches will be completely self-funded. • Official coaches might be required to pay or contribute towards their own costs.
• Coaches must be ready to fill out the team agreement and return to the SAGF within 24 hours.
Selection Criteria Trampoline a) FIG Youth Competition Compulsory Routine b) Set degree of difficulty and a high standard of execution must be obtained for both routines. c) Gymnasts profile, track record and progress may be taken into consideration. d) A maximum of 4 girls & 4 boys will be selected for the pre junior, junior & senior team for DMT & TRA Compulsory Routine Seniors The routine consists of ten (10) different elements, each with 270° somersault rotation. Four elements marked with an asterisk (*) will have difficulty ratings. The difficulty will be added to the execution score to give the total score for the first routine. None of these four elements may be repeated in the 2nd routine, or the difficulty will not be counted. Compulsory Routine Juniors The routine consists of ten (10) different elements, only one element is allowed to be less than 270° somersault rotation. Each element meeting the requirements must be marked with an asterisk (*) on the competition card. These requirements cannot be fulfilled by combining them into one element but must be performed as separate elements. 1. one (1) element to front or back, 2. one (1) element from front or back - in combination with requirement No. 1, 3. one (1) double front or back somersault with or without twist and 4. one (1) element with a minimum of 540º twist and minimum of 360° somersault rotation. Compulsory Routine Pre-Juniors The routines are the routines prescribed by the FIG for the 11-12 World Age Groups. Selection Criteria Tumbling Pre-Juniors– maximum 4 boys and 4 girls The top 4 will be selected using the highest competition mark from trials, including a minimum set difficulty to be achieved and minimum execution mark of 8.2 for each routine. Must have competed at the SAGF Gym Games 2019 Pre-Junior Ladies – a total of 2.7 for both routines combined Pre-Junior Men – a total of 3.6 for both routines combined Junior – maximum 4 boys and 4 girls The top 4 will be selected using the highest competition mark from trials, including a minimum set difficulty to be achieved and minimum execution mark of 8.2 for each routine. Must have competed at the SAGF Gym Games 2019 Junior Ladies – a total of 4.0 for both routines combined Junior Men – a total of 5.3 for both routines combined Seniors– maximum 4 boys and 4 girls The top 4 will be selected using the highest competition mark from trials, including a minimum set difficulty to be achieved and minimum execution mark of 8.2 for each routine. Must have competed at the SAGF Gym Games 2017 Senior Ladies – a total of 6.2 for both routines combined Senior Men – a total of 9.8 for both routines combined To complete the delegation, consideration may be made for athletes who miss the total of the requirements by 0.5
Team Manager Selection SAGF Appointment (based on SAGF policy) Transformation Target The technical committee will enforce the equity rules and goals Trampoline & Tumbling of the Federation that are in force at the time of selection. Team Approval • The selected gymnasts and officials will be forwarded to Trampoline & Tumbling the SAGF HP Panel. • The Program Management facilitates and motivates the selection. • SAGF HP Panel reserves the right to correct, amend or change selections according to SAGF policies and strategies
