Know Before You Go The Senior Recreation Center (SRC) and Senior Pool (SP) will remain closed until further notice. A $5 million phased facility update to both the SRC and SP has been in the works for the past couple of years, with funding coming from the McKinney Community Development Corporation (MCDC). Our initial goal was to keep parts of the facility open throughout the construction project. However, faced with the prospect of keep- ing both areas of the facility closed or available for very limited usage due to the COVID-19 pandemic, we moved from a phasing plan to updating the entire building at one time. The updates are expected to completed at the end of 2020. We are committed to providing continual updates on the construction progress at www.mckinneyparks.org/projects. We have partnered with our local recreation facilities to continue serving our active adults. Please visit the following locations via our webpage. • Apex Centre — open with limited service • Recreation Center at Towne Lake* — open with limited service • Old Settler’s Recreation Center — open with limited service The Senior Recreation and Senior Pool staff have a temporary office location at 1476 Industrial Blvd. and can be reached at 972-547-7491. *Formerly known as McKinney Community Center 972-547-7480 Fall 2020 McKinney Parks & Recreation 9
