TOMORROW

EACH YEAR OUR RIDERS ARE PRIVILEGED TO TAKE PART IN ONE OF THE MOST UNIQUE
MOUNTAIN BIKE EVENTS IN AFRICA, GIVING THEM THE EXCLUSIVE OPPORTUNITY OF
CYCLING ALONG ANCIENT GAME PATHS IN REMOTE, BEAUTIFUL WILDERNESS AREAS
WITHIN THE GMTFCA.

Located at the confluence of the mighty Shashe and Limpopo rivers, this visionary Transfrontier
Park, embracing South Africa, Botswana and Zimbabwe, showcases rich fossil deposits, Bushman
rock art and gold artefacts of ancient civilisations that once flourished in this area.

This booklet contains information on various accommodation options within the GMTFCA, for
participants, their families and friends to explore outside of the event. All enquiries can be directed
to the establishments themselves, using the contact details provided.

Thank you for the part you play in changing lives – we look forward to welcoming you on our 2022Tour –
a celebration of 15 years of riding for Children in the Wilderness.

NOTTINGHAM ESTATE | CITRUS AND ECO-TOURISM ESTATE

Nottingham Estate is a privately owned citrus and eco-tourism estate in Zimbabwe, located on the
banks of the Limpopo River close to Beitbridge town, with a rich family history going back to 1953.
Through their business activities, Nottingham Estate contributes to the wellbeing of their employees
and the local community, with a clear vision and intent to become even better at what they do.
Nottingham Estate comprises three different eco-tourism establishments: Nottingham Fishing
Retreat, Kuduland and Fly Camp.

Nottingham Fishing Retreat:
This camp is situated approximately 32 km from Beitbridge, on the banks of the magnificent
Mashilichokwe Dam, offering 7 km of pristine water with prime bass and bream fishing. The water
boasts a myriad bird life, crocodiles and hippos, and the dam is surrounded by mopane, boabab
and a wide variety of other trees, with rocky outcrops and magnificent sunsets.

There are seven chalets all overlooking the beautiful dam with lush green lawns. All units are air
conditioned, with comfortable beds, a drinks fridge, tea and coffee facilities as well as a full en-suite
bathroom. This four star establishment boasts delicious meals, with entertainment for everyone.

Kuduland:
Kuduland is situated approximately 27 km from Beitbridge, on the banks of the mighty Limpopo
River, under a canopy of fever trees and spectacular nyala berry trees, with lush green lawns
sweeping down to the river’s edge. It is the perfect venue for family gatherings, or breakaways from
the hustle and bustle of city life.

Kuduland comprises six air conditioned chalets, sleeping two people in each and five barracks,
sleeping four people in each. There are two pools with glorious views of the river, and meals are
served in their lapa or under the nyala berry trees.

Fly Camp:
Fly Camp, situated on top of an amphitheatre, was built in 1984 as an entertainment area for
Nottingham Estate guests. Here, guests get to enjoy a bushveld dinner whilst viewing elephants
and other animals feeding and interacting in the amphitheatre below.

The sunset views at Fly Camp are stunning, with a range of pinks and orange that cover the vast
landscape. When it gets darker the stars are so large it’s as if you could actually pick them from the
sky.

TRAVELING WITH

                               WILDERNESS SAFARIS

Children in the Wilderness is supported by Wilderness Safaris – a responsible luxury ecotourism
company that exists to protect pristine wilderness areas and the flora and fauna that they support.

If you would like to visit a Wilderness Safaris camp either before or after the event, please let us
know and we will arrange for one of their experienced Journey Specialists to contact you.

Please contact us at info@childreninthewilderness.com to make arrangements.

It is the children of the Children in the Wilderness programme who are the reason that we host this
event: the smiling faces of the youngsters who participate in the camp programmes or the school
Eco-Clubs, the serious students benefiting from a scholarship, and the young “guides in training”
enthusiastically identifying a bird in their books.

We value your support and the contribution you have made to Children in the Wilderness by taking
part in our unique mountain bike event.

We look forward to another fantastic event with our riders and the greater team of volunteers who
dedicate their time, passion and energy into making this the experience of a lifetime.
