NEWS Splash New to the South End Art Hop this year, is the introduction of specific neighborhoods or ‘zones’ along Pine Street and adjoining areas. Distinct zones are color coded for easy to find spots on the map that you can ‘hop’ from one to the next! A game of ‘Bingo’— on page 69—allows you to gather stamps in each zone to be entered to win fun South End business prizes! SEABA has partnered with The Flynn Center this year to host our annual SEABA Art Hop Juried Show at the Amy E. Tarrant Gallery. You may hop from ‘Flynn Center to Flynn Ave’ and everything in between! Share your photos using #flynntoflynn and #arthop on Instagram to show us what you find. Friday evening brings the art party with installations, music, and incredible artwork to purchase. A street closure from Kilburn to Howard Streets along Pine, offers clear pathways to walk and bike to art studios. Food, drinks, and outdoor artist vending may now be found throughout the whole area! Saturday is a fun day for all ages, with the Kids Hop located at the Farmer’s Market on Saturday until 2 p.m., mini golf at ReSource, performances, and the Strut! Fashion Show in the evening at Generator on Sears Lane this year. Sunday continues the fun at a slightly slower pace, allowing you to take the time to speak with many of the participating artists and purchase or pick up the artwork that you’ve enjoyed during the weekend! Being able to walk right into a maker’s studio or business and directly support their passion by enjoying their products or purchasing their goods is what brings us the most joy, and we hope that you will share that pride with us throughout the whole year here in the South End Arts District. Enjoy! 6
