NINETY - SECOND SEASON NINETY - SECOND SEASON Thank You to our Corporate and Community Partners for their Generous Support Dear Friends, In Teresa’s letter to you all at the announcement of our 2019-20 season she wrote: Dear all, “What is a year’s time in the greater scheme of things?” The answer to this question will largely depend on the type of ‘year’ that we are talking about. Certainly, no one can predict what will happen in the world tomorrow, let alone next week or a year from now… Well, it’s safe to say we have had a year none of us will ever forget. At a time when we are redefining what may be ‘normal’, it is more important than ever to inject art and culture into our lives and communities. The arts exist as a catalyst to inspire the continued evolution of civilization. They provide a voice of hope, reason, and growth, and I have found their absence to be deafening. Our spring 2021 season will be a reawakening of those voices as we push forward with determination and hope. The classical series, entitled A New Dawn, will feature Vivaldi’s The Four Seasons along with many other classical favorites. The spring 2021 concert line-up will also include a POPs concert under the direction of Principal Pops Conductor, Nick Palmer. His concert, entitled A Salute to Boston Pops, will be the first concert to include winds since December 2019! While we are aware of the challenges we are facing. We are confident in our planning efforts to host events responsibly and safely. The Altoona Symphony is committed to providing a safe environment for all our performers and audience members. Please note that programming is always subject to changes. We look forward to sharing with you once again, our love of music.
