OPENS JANUARY 2019 McWane Science Center and UAB Medicine are excited to introduce a new exhibit coming to Birmingham in January 2019 in time for winter Field Trips. GENOME: Unlocking Life’s Code offers students the opportunity to take a take look inside their cells to explore the mysteries of the human genome. ABOUT THE EXHIBIT DNA literally is the 'stuff of life'-it is the set of in- structions for making everything from you to zebras, strawberries, and even yeast. Understanding what the language of DNA means will revolutionize your under- standing of yourself, your health, and your connections to life on Earth. GENOME: Unlocking Life's Code will take visitors deep inside their own bodies to explore the mysteries of the human genome. New exhibit explores the inner world of the human being Students will learn what genomic science tells us about health and disease, where we fit into the natural world, and how humans are connected to all life on the planet. Through physical and computer interactives, media experiences, specimens, artifacts, and replicas, GENOME: Unlocking Life’s Code will reveal the exciting nature of genomic science and what it means to us as humans. Educational “Genome: Unlocking Life’s Code” is spon- programming and sored by UAB Medicine, Alabama’s leader in events will be available precision medicine.
