A CAREERS COLLEGE ENTRY LEVEL Learning at this level involves building general knowledge and skills to give you confidence to move on to other courses or into employment. Qualifications include: Entry 1, Entry 2 and Entry 3 (in a range of subjects) Entry requirements: None LEVEL 1 Level 1 qualifications will give you basic knowledge and skills and the ability to work with guidance or supervision. Learning at this level can start you on your career path. Qualifications include: NVQ1; GCSEs Grades 3-1 (Grades D-G); Level 1 Diploma Entry requirements: Entry Level Certificate or 2 GCSEs Grades 2-1 (Grades E–G) LEVEL 2 Learning at this level involves building knowledge and/or skills in relation to an area of work or a subject area and can be applied to many job roles as Level 2 qualifications show employers that you’ve reached a nationally recognised standard. Qualifications include: NVQ2; GCSEs Grades 9-4 (Grades A*-C); Level 2 Diploma; Apprenticeships Entry requirements: 4 GCSEs Grade 3 or above (A*–D); Equivalent qualification eg: Introductory Certificate, NVQ Level 1 LEVEL 3 Learning at this level involves obtaining detailed knowledge and skills. Level 3 qualifications are appropriate for people wishing to progress to university or, in some areas, supervising and training others in their field of work as you will have reached a nationally recognised standard. Qualifications include: NVQ3; A Levels; Level 3 Extended Diploma; Advanced Apprenticeships Entry requirements: Level 2 Diploma – Merit or above, 5 GCSEs Grade 4 or above (A*–C). You may also need Grade 4 or above (A*–C) in Maths and English. LEVEL 4/5/6 These are degree level courses and learning at this level involves a high amount of in-depth study.
