Welcome cowgirls and cowpokes to the fifth annual St. Vincent DePaul Bazaar Dinner Auction. Once again, we are honored to chair the Wild West Bazaar. The community of St. Vincent de Paul and Sacred Heart School is unbelievably amazing! This year has thrown more than a few curve balls and we have continued to move forward. Like most things in 2020, the Wild West Bazaar Dinner Auction is poised to be unlike any other. But even though we are not able to gather together in the McGremlin Gym, we are asking you, our incredible community of donors and supporters to raise your virtual paddles, bid on items, and make donations to our parish and school so they can continue their missions. We are asking you to “circle the wagons” and dig deep to support our students and parish because we know a successful Bazaar Dinner Auction is critical to both the parish and school’s immediate and future needs. Our parish community, the school, and the greater Pettis County area benefit in many ways from tonight’s Dinner Auction. Proceeds from the Wild West Bazaar directly benefit student programs & school improvements, parish outreach programs, and the needs of our parishioners. In preparing to make the Bazaar Dinner Auction a success, we have counted on and received help from our committee members, volunteers, faculty & staff and all individuals that made this evening possible, we thank you for your commitment and generosity to the parishioners and students of our church and school. We would like to thank all parishioners of St. Vincent DePaul, all the wonderful parents & alumni of Sacred Heart School and other friends who are logged on with us this evening. So here we go, taking the Wild West Bazaar Dinner Auction into cyberspace. Check your internet connection, log on, grab a cold beverage, and bid high and bid often! Giddy Up! Items I Want to Buy 13
Auction Items 1. Fund-a-Need This year, we are asking for your help to complete a few projects: First, our rectory needs a bit of a facelift. We meet with individuals who are discussing some of the most important moments in their lives: weddings, funerals, and developing their Catholic faith. These are times that should not be spent sitting around an old kitchen table. Instead, we want to make it a comfortable atmosphere with living room furniture that will provide a relaxed and inviting environment. Second, the classrooms in the Parish Center are in need of items to help with our Adult Faith Formation classes including Smart TVs, a sound system and wall brackets. These will help us utilize a number of available resources in our education process. Goal Amount: $20,000 Teacher Requests: In place of class baskets this year, we asked the teachers and staff to suggest items they can use in their classrooms to help enhance learning. Explore the list on the following pages and help fund a teacher’s request. You can give any amount - $1 to $10,000 - for any or all packages. 14
Pa ck a ge N um ber D onat ion Pa ck a ge N a m e D e scr i p t i o n Go a l 2101 Teacher Request: Fr. As part of our Armor of God education, each student in the $1,200 Dave and Fr. Joe school will receive a gift of armor appropriate for their age level. This is a very exciting program that will help build upon their Catholic Faith. We are asking you donate to help us purchase the following items for each grade: FIRST: Crucifix SECOND: Children's Bible Stories THIRD: Scapular FOURTH: Divine Mercy/Finger Rosary FIFTH: Rosary SIXTH: Holy Card of their Saint SEVENTH: Regular Bible EIGHTH: His Body/Her Body books NINTH: Divine Mercy Cover Prayer Journal TENTH: Responsibility of Driving / Medal ELEVENTH: Responsible Tech & Cell use / Benedict Bracelet TWELFTH: Transition from Student to Alumnus, Cross/Pendant, Sacred Heart/Anima Christi Prayer Card 2102 Teacher Request: Mrs. Keurig K-Duo Coffee Maker $250 City Keurig stainless steel thermal carafe K-Cups Reusable Keurig K Duo Coffee Filter 2103 Teacher Request: Ms. This year, we asked our teachers to let us know what items $300 McMullin they could use in their classroom to help enhance learning. These are the requests for this teacher: -The River of Doubt: Theodore Roosevelt's Darkest Journey -Flyboys: A True Story of Courage -Isaac's Storm: A Man, a Time, and the Deadliest Hurricane in History -The Greatest Generation -We Band of Angels: The Untold Story of the American Women Trapped on Bataan 2104 Teacher Request: Mrs. This year, we asked our teachers to let us know what items $1,850 Dove they could use in their classroom to help enhance learning. These are the requests for this teacher: Starting Kindergarten in the midst of a COVID pandemic, Mrs. Dove has a wish list that will help her students navigate this school year with items that will help them alleviate stress, manage their masks, and keep them social distancing. Flexible seating wobble seats, lanyards for masks, and iPads that stay in her Kindergarten room will help Mrs. Dove and her students as they learn in this most unique school year. 15
Pa ck a ge D onat ion N um ber Pa ck a ge N a m e D e scr i p t i o n Go a l 2105 Teacher Request: These are the requests for our Cafeteria: $1,700 Cafeteria 3 Small Rubber Floor mats 3 Medium Rubber Floor Mats 2 Sets of Stainless Steel Mixing Bowls Insulated Heated holding cabinet 2106 Teacher Requests: Mrs. As many of you know, Mrs. Hagebusch has a mini-zoo in her $400 Hagebusch classroom. Trying to keep up with all of the purchases that go along with having these critters is quite challenging. Mrs Hagebusch is requesting help with a variety of items for her animals including cage cover, lightbulbs, lights, litter, bird food, bird treats, chinchilla log, rat treats, and vitamin bites 2107 Teacher Request: Ms. One thing that I would really love for our classroom is an $25 Tucker electric pencil sharpener. Being in first grade, we sharpen 20 or so pencils a day - and while our classroom does have a manual sharpener, it tends to sharpen strangely and focus on only one side of the pencil. Because of this, I find myself having to use a small personal handheld sharpener many times throughout the day. 2108 Teacher Request: Mrs. These are the requests for this teacher: $100 Martin Mailbox set for organizing papers for Religion class 2109 Teacher Request: Mrs. I am going to include 3 book sets that I have had my eye on $475 Tippie and would LOVE to have for 4th and 5th grade reading classes. We would use them for novel studies. We complete a vast amount of curriculum with novel studies. We complete vocabulary work, written response questions and focused questions on figurative language, foreshadowing, making inferences, synonyms/antonyms, analogies, discussion questions, and student projects. The books that we currently have are book sets that teachers have purchased themselves or are in poor condition. 2110 Teacher Request: Ms. I want to incorporate a few different flexible seating options $300 Kramer for my classroom. Students really enjoy being able to have options and move within their classrooms. These are great sensory helpers too! 2111 Teacher Request: Mrs. The tenor drum heads have lived a 'full life' and are in need $100 Edwards of being replaced. We need four different sizes: 13", 12", 10" and 8" 2112 Teacher Request: Mrs. I have worked all summer on professional development $400 Kilby relating to using technology in the classroom. I have already implemented some of the skills and found headphones are a must! I could implement more student based learning if I had headphones for the kids to listen to recording and audio/videos. Otherwise, I have overlapping video noise which is distracting and defeats the purpose of the activity. With headphones, I could do more gameification, mystery rooms, and so much more! 16
Pa ck a ge D onat ion N um ber Pa ck a ge N a m e D e scr i p t i o n Go a l 2113 Teacher Request: Mrs. Swivel Chair: $500 Williams This would be helpful to sit on as I move to each student's desk for individual assistance. One copy of Freckle Juice Book, Sarah Plain and Tall and How to Eat Fried Worms for each student: In preparation for students moving to 4th grade, we would complete novel studies 2114 Teacher Request: Mrs. 500lbs of clay: Use for K-12 for pottery $200 Kehl 2115 Teacher Request: Mrs. HP Wireless color printer and ink. The printers available to $260 Talamentes teachers in the WorkRoom and Third floor are just black ink. I would like to have a color printer in my room to prepare class material as needed such as bingo cards, games, posters, etc. instead of asking the main office to print them off or print them at my house. 2116 Teacher Request: Mrs. Geometric Set: We could use these shapes during our study $200 Bentch of 3 D shapes. It would help the students have a hands on visual of what the shapes look like. White Boards: The students can use these dry erase boards to give instant feedback by writing a response down and showing it to the teacher. These boards would complete a class set so each student could have their own board. Geared Clock: These individual clocks have gears that allow the students to see how the hour hand moves as the minute hand changes. They would be useful for teaching students how to tell time. 2117 Teacher Request: Mrs. 3D Geometric Shapes for Math $150 Sobaski Portable Boombox Building blocks 2118 Teacher Request: Ms. We are working on expanding the health office to include the $700 Smothers next-door room that was formerly the closet. The expansion will offer privacy for students when communicating their needs with the nurse, provide a separate space for those who might be infectious while they wait to be picked up, and allow me to keep eyes on those that are waiting to see the nurse (in the event of an emergency kind situation). Recovery Couch Privacy Screen Desk with file drawer Thermometer covers 17
