W i n t e r i s f o r F a m i ly ! W I N T E R I S F O R F A M I LY (Glen Eden) Winter is often seen as a time to endure with cold wet days filled with bundling up, shoveling driveways, and rushing indoors to stay warm. What is a family that wants to play together supposed to do? It’s simple really: Make winters what you want them to be. Skiing and Snowboarding are two exceptional examples of ways families can play together regardless of the cold and snow. These sports can be enjoyed on your own or as a group regardless of ability, and can be learned and appreciated for a lifetime. Local hills like Glen Eden offer an incredible array of lesson offerings, tickets, and passes. Whether you are totally new to the sport, or a seasoned pro, they have something for you. These smaller “feeder” clubs are what help drive the sport by catering to those new to the sport, and making it possible for families to sneak out after dinner or on a weekend and make a few turns close to home. To start, plan a day trip to your local hill and/or sign your kids up for a lesson. Glen Eden has rentals, and a walk in lesson program to help the new skier or boarder get started. With some simple food, and other fun taking place at the hill, a day out on a weekend or evening can quickly become the highlight of the week for the family. What starts with an evening trip to Glen Eden or your local hill on a weekend can lead to memory making family time that will get you out in the fresh air, active, and engaged. All without the help of a phone or video game console. Between the terrain park, the race course, the fire in the lodge, or other fun taking place around the hill, there is something for everyone. Before you know it, your family is considering a family trip at March Break using Skican! Bottom line: Winters are for Family. Skiing and Snowboarding are for families. You cannot change the fact that it’s going to snow, that it’s going to be cold, or that you are going to need to shovel that drive. You can however make the most of it. Get your family started this season. Plan a day trip, take a lesson, get yourself sliding. Watch for the smiles. Make memories and make the most out of winter. Glen Eden is one of many incredible local #50th ANNIVERSARY spots to get your start! Your family will thank you for it. Questions? Give us a call, let us know how we can help! Let’s get you started right! skican.com AJ Leeming Manager, Programs & Services Glen Eden, Milton, Ontario 19
