FOREWORD & OVERVIEW Dear colleagues, It is our great pleasure to invite you to the 25th edition of our symposium. Planning a congress during the ongoing pandemic is still challenging. However, after two years of the pandemic and a successful world-wide vaccination program, we feel that it is now time to step forward and regain a bit of normality. It is our great wish to hold again an on-site congress that offers opportunities for face-to-face meetings with colleagues, business partners and friends old and new. Furthermore, we will be more than delighted to celebrate the jubilee of the 25th edition of our symposium together with you in Düsseldorf in February 2023! The full scientific program will only be accessible on-site in the Maritim Hotel Düsseldorf. For those that cannot travel from abroad, parts of the live demonstrations will be broadcasted online. Only in the unlikely event of another severe pandemic wave with significant new restrictions, the symposium will take place in full hybrid format. The program will then be slightly modified, and we may also broadcast from other centers. As with our previous meetings, experts from different parts of the world will take part so that we can learn from each other at an international level. A varied program of live demonstrations from the Evangelisches Krankenhaus Düsseldorf, mini- and satellite symposia, state-of-the-art lectures and breakout sessions provide an ideal professional environment for learning and exchange of knowledge and experiences. It is designed to encourage your active participation and stimulate discussion. For the first time, hands-on sessions for basic and advanced endoscopic techniques will be offered for endoscopists with various levels of experience. The high number of participants and the very positive results of surveys from our previous symposia prove the successful concept. The faculty, the congress organization, Lux AV and our team are pleased to welcome you! We wish you an interesting and enjoyable stay in Düsseldorf! Horst Neuhaus Torsten Beyna 02
