The 2018 Pichon-Longueville Baron is a blend of 78% Cabernet Sauvignon and 22% Merlot,
aged for 18 months in barriques, 80% new and 20% one year old. Deep garnet-purple colored,
the nose bursts from the glass with flamboyant scents of stewed black plums, crème de cassis,
and Black Forest cake, plus suggestions of Indian spices, unsmoked cigars, pencil shavings, and
espresso. The medium to full-bodied palate delivers impactful black fruit preserves and exotic
spice layers, framed by plush tannins and a lively backbone, finishing long and spicy.

The 2010 Pontet-Canet offers a very deep garnet color, while the nose explodes with a vast
array of black fruit preserves and savory nuances: plum preserves, blackcurrant cordial, black
cherry coulis, and licorice with wafts of dried lavender, melted chocolate, charcuterie, black
olives, truffles, and camphor plus a hint of sandalwood. The full-bodied palate is filled with black
fruits, exotic spices, and earthy nuances with a firm foundation of ripe, grainy tannins and bold
freshness, finishing with epic length and depth. So much more expressive and seductive than
many 2010s at this stage, and yet it is still incredibly youthful!

Composed of 54% Cabernet Sauvignon, 31% Cabernet Franc, 9% Petit Verdot, and 6%
Merlot, the deep garnet-purple 2018 Proprietary Red has a fantastically fragrant nose of candied
violets, red roses, Morello cherries, and blackcurrant pastilles with hints of wild blueberries, red
currant jelly, iron ore, and forest floor, plus a waft of cinnamon stick. Medium to full-bodied, the
palate is completely packed with tightly wound black and red berry layers, framed by firm, ripe,
finely grained tannins, and seamless freshness, finishing with incredibly persistent and evocative
floral and mineral layers. An absolute head-turner, this 2018 is all that and then some.

The 2019 Whitney Vineyard Chardonnay is a pale straw color in the glass bursting with

Located in Knights Valley, Sonoma, the Les Pavots vineyard is situated in the oldest of the
estate-owned sites, planted in 1989. Composed of 68% Cabernet Sauvignon, 19% Cabernet
Franc, 10% Merlot, and 3% Petit Verdot, the 2018 Les Pavots is medium to deep garnet-purple
in color. It needs a fair bit of coaxing to unlock the intense scents of blackcurrant preserves, ripe
black plums, and boysenberries with touches of wild sage, tobacco leaf, and pencil shavings. The
full-bodied palate is densely packed and tightly wound with loads of black fruits, dried herbs, and
earthy layers, supported by firm, grainy tannins, and bold freshness, finishing long and energetic.

highest elevation at Brand’s Pritchard Hill estate. The wine is fermented half in French oak, half
in stainless steel, and aged 22 months in French oak. The 2017 Cabernet Sauvignon (100%)
is deep garnet-purple colored and bursts from the glass with ripe, expressive crème de cassis,
freshly crushed black berries, and plum preserve notes with touches of menthol, cinnamon
stick, cedar chest, and spice box. Medium-bodied, the palate has a firm, grainy texture and oodles
of freshness supporting the expressive black fruit preserves, finishing on a lingering spicy note.

From his distinctive vineyards in Champagne’s Marne Valley, vigneron Christophe Baron is
initiating a production process he calls ‘’Champagne de terroir.’’
Pinot Meunier is the traditional grape variety of the Marne Valley and is the most adapted
to this region to highlight and distinguish its richly diverse terroir. For these reasons, Baron has
chosen to grow and vinify only Pinot Meunier.

ELEVATED ELIVETTE
Complexity, concentration, and cohesiveness are hallmarks of the 2018 Elivette with layers
upon layers of aromas and flavors slowly peeling open as the wine evolves in the glass. Aromas
of red and blue fruits mingle with earthy forest floor, dried tea leaves, and dried fruit. As the wine
further opens, tobacco leaf, violets, black currants, and sage evolve into dusty sweet sandalwood
and cocoa spice. On the palate, the youthfulness of this wine initially shows tight, dark bitter
cocoa before opening into earthy blue fruits, fresh fig, and dried rose petals. Structurally, the
wine is broad across the palate with a lingering finish of cedar and spice. With proper cellaring
this wine should age gracefully for many years to come but with proper decanting is ready to
drink now.
