Patient Transfer Process The purpose of the Transfer Center is to assist you and your care team in determining what will best meet the needs of your patient. The benefit of this process is to ensure a seamless connection from providers in the region to the correct accepting provider. All of the information is obtained in one step. In addition, MedFlight dispatch will be on the line to help coordinate a flight if necessary. Our specially trained staff will coordinate your transfer or arrange for a medical conversation with a Billings Clinic physician. 2022 Directory of Physicians & Advanced Practitioners MedFlight Billings Clinic’s MedFlight Air Ambulance Service was the first flight team west of the Mississippi River and began serving the region in 1978. Now a regional leader in patient transport, the MedFlight team strives to offer the highest level of clinical assessment and treatment during transport. The patient is our first priority. The focus of MedFlight is to deliver the highest quality care in the safest environment possible while minimizing costs to the patient. Capabilities: MedFlight is able to bring additional equipment, medications and resources to the patient if needed. These include blood products, whole blood for trauma patients, medications to reverse anticoagulants, antivenin for rattlesnake bites, and a balloon pump to help a post cardiac injury patient. Our Billings Clinic physicians will coordinate care between the sending facility and our flight team. Specialized Teams: Billings Clinic offers specialized flight teams for high risk OB, and NICU (Neonatal ICU) patients. The flight team is composed of Registered Nurses and Registered Respiratory Therapists. MedFlight can also transport any adult or pediatric patient requiring transfer to another facility. Safety: MedFlight is committed to the safest possible transport of patients. Our two Beechcraft King Air 200 turbo-jet fixed wing aircrafts have dual engines and are flown by two pilots. Billings Clinic is pleased to announce that it has established a new helicopter air ambulance service in Bozeman. This is an expansion of its Billings-based fixed wing MedFlight Air Ambulance service and provides an extension of critical lifesaving transportation consistent with Billings Clinic’s mission. Billings Clinic Bozeman Coming in 2022: New Bozeman Campus In the spring of 2022, Billings Clinic will open a new destination ambulatory center for the Gallatin Valley. We are taking our time to create an excellent facility, with attention to an optimal patient experience through flexibility and efficiency of design. This welcoming new campus offers features important to the recruitment and retention of the best possible physicians and health care providers. Our new facilities are being built to the standards of Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) with design by LEED-certified architects. The Bozeman campus will be integrated into the beautiful surrounding natural areas and community with a Healing Garden and connections to existing trails and streets for commuting. Billings Clinic is in the first phase of developing its 58-acre campus in Bozeman located at E. Valley Center Rd. and N. 27th Ave. The first phase of the plan involves creating approximately 140,000 square feet of destination ‘ambulatory care’ facilities. The first two projects include an Ambulatory Care Center (ACC) and an Ambulatory Surgery Center (ASC) that will serve the needs of the fastest-growing county in the state of Montana. We will offer a campus that includes a multi-specialty physician group practice, urgent care and outpatient surgical services. The center will also provide specialty outreach clinics and telemedicine services to enhance access to the 80+ specialties offered by Billings Clinic. In addition, the Mayo Clinic Care Network provides clinical resources and direct access to Mayo Clinic specialists. Extensive research went into determining what services are needed for the master planning for the campus, including in-person community listening sessions, online surveys, and a feasibility study based on the projected needs and growth of the Bozeman community. 4
